[It's a rare day off, which means Hibiki can be found sitting on a bench watching her animals at play! She really doesn't have enough time to spend with them, so she's happy to see that they seem to be enjoying the outdoors on this sunny day.

Happy, and a little... tired, actually.

By the time people come across her, she may well have just nodded off in her seat, her form slumped slightly to the side as she rests. The sheep, hummingbird, gusk and Cyndaquil currently running/scampering/flying around don't seem to have noticed, but there is a small hamster on her shoulder now nibbling on a bit of her hair.

...Someone may want to wake the poor girl up.]

[And later, a video call! She is clearly pretty uncomfortable, her hands twisting and fidgeting in front of her.]

I... I didn't really want to ask about it before. I thought I could take care of it, but there's so much going on...

[Deep breath, Hibiki. It's okay to ask for help, remember? With a short gulp, she continues.]

I... have a lot of pets. But I can't take care of them as much as they need it. I work with the medical team and the suppliers. I just--

[Her expression falls as she falters.]

...I can't take care of them by myself anymore.

[As loathe as she is to admit it. Even at home, she had managed to take care of Shii-chan even while juggling her work, but here...

It seems she's bitten off more than she can chew.]

I don't know what to do with them... I have a sheep, a hummingbird, a gusk, a Cyndaquil, and a hamster. They're all really great, and they're well behaved, s-so...

I don't want to have to get rid of them... but I want to make sure they get cared for. What should I do...?

[It's almost like a plea. These animals - each one reminds her of people she can no longer see. To give them away just doesn't seem right. But neglecting them hardly seems proper, either.]

I won't. I ... just need a little getting used to. At least he's not one of those big dragon ones that used to be here a long time ago. Those scared the crap out of me.

I think I saw them around, but I never really asked about them... Everyone with a Pokémon was so nice, I sort of assumed all of the Pokémon were nice too.

That's what they always told me. [She shrugged.] I just don't quite know how to talk to dragons. I really don't.

I've... never really tried, either. I knew the other Pokémon trainers a lot better...

Pikachu was really cute! I hope they'll be alright back in their homes.

I'm sure they will, and I remember that one. The little rodent with the electric powers, right?

Yes, that’s right! He was always with Red-san wherever he went!

[Ahh, it was always so fun to see those two…]

Pretty much. I think he was actually in charge, honestly. That's how it seemed anyway.

Heheheh... That's right! Whenever Pikachu wanted to do something, Red would go help him! Like when we planted sunflowers...

Hehe, in other words, Red thought he was in charge, but what Pikachu... Pika'd went? That's how it felt to me whenever I saw them together.

[She nods quickly.]

That’s exactly it! And sometimes Pikachu would see something, so he’d get Red to take him over to look at it better. They got along really well – it was always so much fun to watch them!

[Such nostalgic thoughts… She really does miss her old friends sometimes.]

Red... was an interesting guy. Too bad he's not around anymore. But, now you're making me curious. I haven't seen any trainers around here in a while. How did you end up with one?

It's actually a little odd. One day I heard a knock on my door, and outside was a box with Fiery's egg and a book on how to take care of Pokémon. I never found out who it was, but...

He looks a little like Gold's Pokémon, Typhlosion. I wonder if it was him...?

They lay eggs? Huh... he looks like a mammal, weird. Well, I guess it makes sense if that's the case. Are there any others around?

[Her expression becomes a bit wistful at that.]

No... I think he's the last Pokémon left in Asgard after all the trainers left.

[Poor thing. She likes to think he's happy enough playing with the other animals, but it must be lonely to be the only one, sometimes...]

Huh... most of the time they disappear when the person they're tied to disappears. I wonder why he didn't.

I don't know... Maybe it's because he didn't ever exist in their world?

[But it's still such a sad thought. He may never see the world he was intended to grow up in.]

Maybe, but I'd hope he doesn't have to be here alone without any of his kind forever, not unless he really wants to be here. They seem pretty intelligent after all.

I hope not... I mean, even if we win the war, everybody has to go home. I don't think I could take him with me.

[...Oh gosh, what does that mean for her other animals, too...?]

Maybe... They'll let him go to the world with all the Pokémon, too? [Someone there would surely treasure him...!]

That would be nice. Even if he forgot, it would be good if he could get sent back there. He'd be with his own kind.

...Yeah. And... I don't know. Maybe Gold-san or one of the others will come across him again.

[Though the chances of that are even lower...]

Maybe mention it to one of the gods, like Freyr. Just as a reminder that he doesn't really belong here, so when it's over he should be sent back. He's an animal, even if he's a very smart one. He shouldn't be here alone.

Ah… That’s true! And since it’s Freyr-sama, I’m sure he’ll do what he can to try to make sure Fiery is taken care of.

[She seems to mull on it for a moment before nodding, having apparently come to a decision.]

…I’ll try to call him as soon as I can about it. I just need to find someone who can look after them in the meantime…

That sounds like a ... have you had any luck so far? It sounds like you're wanting to leave them long-term with someone.

N-not really long-term! Just... probably on nights when I have a lot of work, I think. Since I'm in two groups, I get busy a lot...

Ah, ok. I wasn't sure. Have you had much luck finding anyone? I'm not sure I'd be a good choice given how much I'm at work myself. [She was in two too, even if she wasn't admitting one of them openly.]
