( Maria's at the Citadel, for anyone that's familiar enough with it to recognise the location. For anyone that isn't she's hoping to push you a little into getting familiar with it )

We don't know when this will happen, that's obvious enough. We all have our groups and ours jobs, but what when the war really hits? Most of the training has been more focused to combat and those wishing to fight.

I want to focus on defense. Not everyone is going to fight - you made that choice with your group. Everyone should be able to defend themselves. To feel safer. Would you rather be able to help yourself, or wait until it could be too late for someone to help you.

( Just going for the worst case scenario here, not the expected. But if you expect the worst hopefully you can get something better. Or be shocked a little into going with her suggestion )

There are a lot of options, included weapons training and unarmed. I teach hand-to-hand combat at the Citadel and self-defense at the school. I'd rather see someone try, and take a chance at helping than not make it through because they couldn't. Think about it.

( Are you going to be able to count on the gods to revive you when it comes down to the end? )

We need to get together. Knowing each other and our abilities will help us start putting together a strategy. The better we can work together now gives us a better chance when we need to work together. We have to be able to rely on each other.

Well said, my lady. [His expression is grave, making him look older than his sixteen years, and his tone is serious as well.] We need to trust each other now and know our strengths and our limits, for when we meet our foes in battle. I myself would prefer to fight alongside someone who I at least have a measure of, instead of someone I'm not certain on at all.

[And as much as he talks about trust, that's one thing that's a little hard to earn, at least from him.]

I can come meet you at any time and any place, my lady, you need only to name them.

I'm at the Citadel most days. ( Keeping herself sharp or anyone else that looks for a partner ) Why not start that measure with a name. Maria Hill. ( She'll take an introduction over the bracelet telling you )

I too, teach at the Citadel [ although in fairness he would much rather not ] and my services are available to any who would learn - the blade is my weapon of choice, but I have lived long enough to know most weapons and their use, saving those from more advanced times.

Wise words, milady. Maglor, at your service. [ he tips her a small bow, graceful and formal, hand over heart ] How would you have us begin?

Yeah, alright. Sounds like a plan.

So... huh. I'm mostly a hand to hand combat kinda guy. Use whatever I can get my hands on.
Sayin' that, though, I'm [glancing away briefly] kinda rusty. I've been tryin' to get some practice in before anything big shows up, but... I think I'm going to need some training in general. I ain't ever really done anything formal, ya know? Kinda learned on the street...

How many blades are there there?

Maria Hill. Finding a time when everyone can get together would be the first step. The Citadel would be the best place.

I'm at the Citadel most days. ( Come fight a girl it's okay ) Training together and keeping our skills sharp is the best thing to do.

Not enough, I would judge, if an attack come. [ Maglor shrugs ] Those who I see here are all good men and women, but we are few. I train some of the younger ones, but I would be hesitant to send them out yet.

Well met, Lady Hill. Aye, the Citadel will be the easiest place. Most classes are in the mornings, I believe - we might use the evenings if you wished to meet when things were quieter.

[With the girls he's known, he can't exactly say that's ever something that worried him...]

Sounds good. So just show up whenever?

Unless any of the groups have changed I haven't seen any children in the military.

( She's going to think for a little while on whether to train with a blade. New skills wouldn't hurt if she found one near her during the war, but she wouldn't immediately reach for it. Maybe after the group has gotten together )

Evenings it is. There's a lot that can be ironed out at the first meeting but it would be good to have them regularly to discuss anything we learn, and to keep regular training practices for us.

Regarding information, is there anything you'd want to know about the people standing beside you?

Any time. The meeting will be in an evening, and when an exact time comes up I'll let you know. For training you can come when you need to.

About time someone said something.

[ Though he knows he's not one to talk, since he hasn't really said anything, and right now he's a bit preoccupied because the bad weather did a number on him. But in times of war, there are no easy rides or handouts. ]

What we need is an organized meeting or something along those lines. Get the lot of us in one spot, 'cause like you said, we need to work together right now.

Ah, your pardon - I suppose Men in general all seem young to me - the youngest I teach at present is the little lady Clementine, and the younger Alice wished to come as well, but neither put their names down for the military, fortunately. my Kevin Prentiss, is, I believe, the youngest of those who did, and his training goes well enough. [ but he would have spared him that, for the boy is only 16 ]

Just tell me when, milady, and I will come. Specifically? [ he does not need to think hard, the old old instincts of command coming back ]

The number of hands, their skill sets and proficiency for their weapon of choice. Their experience of battle - although I guess most would have had that, here. In Asgard their abilities and their skills with said powers would be useful, also. In my own world, I once led a calvary - there are horses here, and it might be of use to see if any might know how to both ride and fight horsed, or if they might be inclined to learn.

[He spends a long time debating whether or not to show his face for this. This woman seems sharp. Maybe she'll finally be that one adult who takes one look at the teenager stepping in to fight for his friends and himself and say this is unacceptable. Ultimately he decides to because it doesn't matter. He's still here to fight a war. Everyone just has to be okay with that including him.

Boyd does unconsciously hold his head higher than usual when he speaks to her and indirectly the others as if daring one of them to say something.]

I'll be there. I'll take you up one of those classes too if you're not too swamped. [He's been working out, but he does need a refresher on how to fight as a human being and not a beta.]

One evening in the Citadel. It's the best place for it. When can't you make it?

( Her telling him to back down would depend on a couple of things. Whilst normally she may wish to keep children out - even teenagers, here something's different. If he has experience she can't really refuse it. Skills and resolve also help. They need people, but even if he's in and does fight they can still keep him protected and safe. Keep everyone protected and safe )

I'm not. ( Being swamped would be a good thing ) What have you done before?

Anyone can learn. I've never taught anyone young before.

( Although here Natasha did. She might defer children to Natasha if it came up, or to Maglor )

I'll keep all of that in mind for the meeting. Learning another skill wouldn't be a bad idea to consider either. Would you be able to show me the basics of using a blade?

[ she checks the other responses before deciding to add her own. it still feels weird to her how the lines between her private life and what she considered to be her job are blurring. ]

Robb and I were in charge of the Guard before the militarization of the city. It was a kind of standing army, and at this point they've all been absorbed into the our group. [ she's got those notes around here somewhere... ] It won't replace practice, but I've got some notes about everyone who was in it. How they fought, their basic fighting abilities-

I can also help out with classes, too, depending on what everyone else needs.

We need to know just what we have to deal with. Strengths, weaknesses... how to turn our weaknesses into strengths. We can't guarantee these 'gods' will help us.

The more help we have the better - the Guard and with classes.

The more we work together on that can answer those questions. Everyone should know the same.

I'm guessing, that given the tone of your video, you have ideas in mind. I agree, we need to get together, sooner rather than later. Whatever is coming won't wait for us to be ready, that's for certain.

Personally, I've been keeping up with weapons training. Probably could go some hand to hand, tend to make it up as I go along.

21st century weapons seem so... backward.
