Video - Day 446
[When the feed clicks on, it shows a dark room with very little light. Anyone who peers a little more closely can see via the light from the screen that the caller, Stiles, is in a bathroom. With the lights off. He appears to be a bit stressed out and is on the floor, looking almost fearfully over behind the screen. There's a clawing noise and little squawks and chirps coming from it.]
Okay. Okay. Um... Okay. Would, ah, would someone mind telling me what the hell a dragon is doing in my house? Like, a real dragon? Oh god... it was trying to eat my feet. I think I'm bleeding. Am I bleeding? I might be. It was chewing on my toes. What the hell... How did a dragon get in my room?
[To anyone that knows Stiles and the aforementioned dragon, something might seem a little... off. Like why Stiles doesn't know said dragon is his.]
Scott? Rachel? Do not come in the house. Seriously. I... it might eat your faces off. I happen to like your faces right where they are. Please don't lose them.
[The fact that Stiles is whispering, sort of, and sounding stressed has Hale scratching a bit more intently at the door, little snout trying to fit in under it as he chirps at 'daddy'.]
Oh god. Oh god, it's going to come in and chew off all my favorite parts. If I don't make it out alive, Rachel, I love you. Scott, please take care of her. Derek... somehow this is Peter's fault. Kick his ass.

[Tread carefully, Stilinski. Or it might be more than your toes you lose.]
N...o, that's not what I'm saying at all. I just...
[Sure, Stiles. Call your girlfriend a liar. Go on. Do it.]
no subject
[ she doesn't sound mad, more like "see why this is so silly?" ]
If I didn't know for sure that that dragon would sooner snuggle up with you than try to eat you, I wouldn't tell you to open the door. But I'm saying, with full confidence, that you should open the door so Hale can calm down.
no subject
[Rachel, there was a toe-eating dragon outside that door that was still trying to get in to finish the job. And it was going to obviously eat his very useful man parts after, since they were so tender and tasty. Why would he open the door to that?]
no subject
I'll be there soon.
[ and she was! well, soon ish. about fifteen minutes later. she knocks out of habit, lets herself in and heads for the stairs. where she finds Hale, sitting at the top, wings flapping once all what is his DEAL? to which she just shakes her head, taking the stairs quick and scooping up the little dragon along the way. who's heavy, shit, you don't realize these things when he just lands around your shoulders, but picking him up takes a bit of effort. Hale still ends up around her neck, snout in the air like he needs to guide her to where Stiles is ]
What's the matter, little love? Daddy's being mean, isn't he. Locking you out when you just want to see if he's okay huh? [ she's not quuuuuite baby talking him, except for the part where she totally is ] It's okay. He's fine. [ and Rachel's taking a seat in the hallway, right across from the bathroom door ] Still in there, scaredy cat?
no subject
[But it was too late. She'd cut the feed and he was left. In the dark. Alone. With a man-eating dragon still trying to get in, making noises that totally weren't cute. They were terrifying. Utterly horrific.
He heard her come in, heard her mumbling to something and he was on his knees at the door, hand on the knob in case he heard screaming.]
Rachel?
[Oh, scaredy cat, huh? Rude, Rachel.]
Are you okay? Is it gone?
no subject
[ ... which wasn't a "yes, he's gone", but it wasn't a lie either, so. she's just going to keep Hale occupied, make sure he doesn't bumrush Stiles right out of the gate. ]
no subject
[God, he was such a pussy. His girlfriend had probably scared it off and he was in here, hiding. Like a pussy. Opening the door, he poked his head out, looking to see...]
Oh my god, Rachel! It's going to bite you!
no subject
[ but she's laughing, and when Hale turns to look at Rachel, head cocked, she just makes a face back at him ]
Have at it then, hit me with your worst! [ and then she's cheating, making tiny kissy sounds at him, just so he knows to lean his face in towards her, so she can kiss the top of his head ] Oh noooo, heeelp, this is the eeeend. [ cue pretend crying, and a trill of a chirp from Hale ] So ruthless, so horrible! [ Hale croons his own little oh no! type sound, a distressed little call, though she's pretty sure he's just copying her, which is kind of adorable ]
no subject
[Okay, maybe it was a bit, especially with the man-eating beast pretending to be upset, or really upset, he didn't know. But still... STILL. There was a dragon on his girlfriend and he needed to man up and grow a pair.
Cautiously, he stood, opening the door a bit more and half sliding out of it.]
How about you just... ah, you just put that thing down and maybe, um... I don't know. Does it go outside? Make it go outside.
no subject
Yes, he does go outside, but he's not going anywhere until you apologize for scaring him. [ a beat ] You still have all your toes, by the way. There's a hole in your sock, but that's the worst of the damage. And it's fine because that's an old sock anyway, isn't it, which I know because those are the only kinds Hale goes after.
So-- say you're sorry, then sit down and say hi to the nice dragon.
no subject
I didn't scare him. He scared me. He's a dragon, Rachel.
[Like, duh, lady. Can't you see that it's a fierce creature with sharp teeth and murder in its eyes?]
no subject
[ Rachel taps the floor until Hale hops down off of her shoulders, then he takes it upon himself to settle on her lap, all curled up. and he's totally still watching Stiles, but cautiously, like he's worried but he's not sure how to fix things. so she just rubs the side of his neck with her thumb, trying to keep him calm ]
You haven't forgotten the first time we talked, have you? That very first time, on the network? We talked about our powers, and you asked me to draw you a dragon. Right? Only I was just a level one at that point, so I couldn't yet.
no subject
[He was frowning now, because she was talking about this logically and looking at him like he was an idiot, along with Hale still looking at him like he was an idiot and he was feeling... like an idiot. But... it had been chewing on his toes. The hole in his sock was proof.
Even if he didn't remember anything else.]
That was just chatter. We didn't actually... I mean, nothing actually happened.
no subject
[ just patting the space next to her on the floor ]
no subject
[Okay, so, maybe he could take 'pet the dragon' as a euphemism for something else and he was enough of a teenage boy that he found that infinitely amusing.]
Look, it was trying to eat me, okay? Did you see what it did to the door? Look!
[He pointed at the bottom corner of the bathroom door that had been half destroyed, clawed and chewed on by what was clearly an evil dragon.]
no subject
[ a beat ]
Gods, gross boy, I meant literally come down here and pet your dragon. And you still having apologized.
no subject
[He wasn't really coming any closer, toes sort of flexing in his socks as he looked at it. Not that it was really that big, but... dragon. A real actual dragon. Looking at him.]
no subject
[ poking at your manhood, dude. ....not literally poking at any- man..parts but
your PRIDE
she's taking a jab at that, yes
and waiting until Hale hops off of her lap, standing up and slinging her bag over her shoulder again. Hale just kind of winds around her feet, even as he keeps peeking up at Stiles. waiting, waiting, waiting. ]
no subject
Hey... I'm not scared.
[Yes he was. Or... had been. It was kind of hard to be scared of something that your girlfriend was treating like a pet.]
This is my house, dammit. I'm not getting chased out of it.
[No... he'd just get chased into the bathroom.]
no subject
no subject
[He frowned, taking a step forward.]
I don't want you to leave, Rach.
[Hale turned when Stiles took the step forward, giving him a chirp. Stiles took his foot back, a reflexive response to potential danger. Danger bad. Feet good.]
no subject
[ though she's grinning at that little dance Stiles does, not giving him the opportunity to act like it didn't happen ]
You are going to feel like such a doofus when you remember everything.
no subject
[Oh, yes he would.]
Can't it just... go outside? Until you go?
[Puuuuuuuuuuuuuuuussy.]
