I wish to put forth a formal request to speak to the patron to which I have been assigned. Odin, I believe. The matter is of the utmost urgency and unfortunately, cannot afford to be delayed.

If this is not the correct channel with which to ensure direct contact, then if I could be pointed in the right direction, it would be most appreciated.

Unfortunately, [She frowned and shifted her attention to another set of notes.] I'm not entirely sure how to answer the 'stardate' question. People got dragged here from different worlds. We were still using AD in mine, so I have no idea what that translates to for you.

It leaves me with several ideas, although they might all require further investigation.

[ though she didn't appear to look like any sort of pre-contact human, the usage of A.D. in the context of measuring time would lead to several possibilities -- one of which could mean arriving from an earth before his time. ]

One of the versions of Earth. There's been a few. [She grunted.] If stardate means you travel in space, we... were just starting to deal with other planets, though I don't think we'd gotten past the moon.

Which star? I can give you an approximate for a few, but I'd need a star of reference.

The system doesn't require a star of reference. But if you are able to help, perhaps you can provide the coordinates of this planet.

It isn't a planet so much as a slightly sideways dimension, which is about as much as I can get about this place. The rules of energy is different here, otherwise I'd have more.

If I had access to accurate charts I'd be able to map something useful.

Perhaps you could clarify what you mean by "Stardate". I'm afraid it's not a term in wide use here.

If you are truly curious, it is simply a system with which to measure the passing of time. A different date system from the one used on this planet, it seems.

The date system here is reckoned by the seasons. They have, in essence, a four-month year, and with rather long months. One does begin to long for the Gregorian calendar, even with its faults.

Odin has fallen into a deep slumber some time ago. He is not awake, it has been impossible to wake him up and there is no way to contact him.

Regarding the date and time, natives in this world count time by seasons, each being around forty-five days and it's currently the 416th year.

Has there been an announced reason for his slumber? [ or coma, what have you. it sounds as if it should be mildly concerning.

at least, he can appreciate the first comprehensible response, even if it leaves him no closer to approximating how much time has passed between him being on the enterprise and arriving here (or whether any funny temporal displacement business happened). ]

Shielding Asgard from Yggdrasil's collapse taxed Odin profoundly, and he has fallen into a sleep from which he cannot be woken. The one reigning right now would be Thor, Prince-Regent and heir.

As for the current day, it's the 31st day of Spring.

Mister Odin can't be contact anymore. He is asleep.

Where I come from, it is the standard method of taking the date.

Maybe he doesn't need to be awake in order to do that? Travelers are placed in Houses according to their personalities, so maybe it's done automatically?

[ ohhhh. Ame nods ] i think they count the days by seasons. But most of us count them by how long we have been here.

On behalf of a god? Probably not. But I have been looking into what's been happening, since I've only been here a short period as well.

There are other gods and goddesses you can approach if it's a question that they have to answer.

Plenty. Had I known the news was so widespread, I might've looked for an alternative option more immediately.

He's cantankerous, but people care about him.

Odin can't talk to you right now, he's asleep... [Essentially.] And even if he was awake, he'd not care cause of all the gods in Asgard who dislike us, he pretty much is on the top of that list.

And you'd unfortunately be correct in that realization, there's no decimals in the dates here— but it's nothing too complicated despite that. Any particular reason for the decimals?

Marking the date of the year. For calculating an approximate of three hundred, sixty-five and a quarter days of a year, it ranges from point one to point three-six-five.

Except on the years you have that extra day and it's three-six-six? Or do you ignore that extra day?

There hasn't— well I don't think any of us have been here long enough to make such a system, though that one is rather inventive. A bit— confined to one world but— inventive.
