001 ❅ Video
[He's sitting in the middle of the ice rink in a circle of tiny ice figurines. Really Jamie's trying not to cry but it's clear that he's utterly devastated. One hand is pressed to the ice and from it rises a small slightly vague but clearly visible sculpture of Jack Frost.]
Jack Frost, winter spirit, Guardian of Fun has gone home to be with his friends the Tooth Fairy and the Sandman and to look after all of the children of Earth. I know he had a lot of friends here so I thought everyone should know. We're gonna keep the ice rink open for business and everything will mostly be the same, except I'm gonna take over the skating lessons he was doing. And if anyone wants to look into getting a job here you should talk to North, you know, Santa Claus. He's doing the hiring.
[Jamie looks over his shoulder at all of the drawings the children have made here over the months the ice rink opened up.]
If anyone wants to leave a message for the Guardians or someone you've lost, you can write it on the walls here.
Private to Alice the younger
Do you want the book we made for Jack for Christmas?

[Just because Jack had been the last one Jamie could see, they also had a special bond. He'd been the first person (outside other spirits and odd creatures) to see the winter spirit. They'd been like brothers and Jamie looked up to him so much.]

[She's just still recovering from knowing Sandy is gone. And now Jack too. But Clementine is aware Jamie knows them better.]
Sorry. I'll definitely come by with something. You okay?
video;
[They've lost three Guardians in such a short time. He's pretty sure that it's worse this time around since he didn't even get to hug Jack.]
They'd like that. [Now he falters.] I...I dunno.
video;
[He was always around. Always helping them. Playing with them.]
I can come over, if you want.

...But Jamie is here.
Jack, who had pointed out more than once that North needed to pay attention to the children around him, would be absolutely furious if North pulled away from the Winter Spirit's first believer. Especially now - when they are all feeling the loss.
So North doesn't bother answering the post. Instead, he takes the steps down from the flat to the first floor below. Walking until he strides out onto the thick ice and makes his way to the Guardians' favorite child.
No words are spoken just yet. North reaches out his hand and quietly clasps Jamie's shoulder.]
[Action]
Now it was Jack. Who would be next? Him? Or perhaps one of the other Guardians. Would he be the last one here?
He'd already said goodbye to the Guardians once before and he was able to watch them leave with a smile on his face. This time he can't manage even that. It's hard being here sometimes. Jamie misses his mom and sister, even his dog. On top of that there's a war and people die here. Not crying is difficult, especially when he doesn't know when he'll see them again. At least at home he knew they'd be around somewhere, even if he couldn't see them.
So by the time North joins him on the ice, he's wiping at his face in hopes of stopping the tears. Any control he had is gone when he feels a giant hand on his shoulder. He looks up at North and gets to his feet, wrapping his arms around the big man as much as he can and burying his face in that belly.
Sorry about the growing damp spot.]
[Action]
Jamie is what's important right now. North knows that losing someone is never easy, particularly for a child sometimes.]
Is alright Jamie. [His tone is low and as soothing as North can possibly make it.] We will be alright. Is not forever. We will see them again.
[Video||Private]
She doesn't know. It was a gift to Jack they made together and yet... she won't have anything else to remember him by in her own room.
Her big brother is gone. She swallows, her eyes burn.]
Y-yes. I would like it... please.
[Video||Private]
He can understand her silence. Understand the need for it. So Jamie just stares down at the Jack figure he made.]
I'll give it to you next time I see you. [Jamie can't bring himself to leave the ice rink yet. And he can't ask her to come until she's ready.]
[Video||Private]
Would you be alright with company?

[He'd liked Jack. They'd had a couple things in common - and trolling or no, he'd thought Jack was a good enough sort of chap. So it's a bit depressing for him to hear, but he suspects it's much worse for the younger Jamie, given how close they'd seemed to be on the network. And his expression, as a result, is sympathetic.]
Och, I'm sorry, Jamie. It'll not be the same around here without him. I'd say he'd approve of ye keeping the rink open, though.
[video]
[A lot of people liked Jack, even if he did tend to pull pranks or do silly things like take pictures only to put them on the network for everyone to see. To Jamie that was the best part about Jack. No matter how scary things were, the Guardian helped him to be brave. Made it feel like there wasn't anything they couldn't face.]
I keep thinking that it should be harder for other people because they might not get to see him again but I can't help but miss him. [Even though it hasn't been long since Jack's departure. He scrubs his face with his sleeve but there aren't any tears.] He would. Jack would like it if there was fun all year around.
[video]
[Even with the other Doctors still being here. The fact remains that it's still his friend that winds up leaving, and that's harder to take than he tends to let on.]
Think the best thing ye can do in that case is to do something so that people'll remember him. And since he'd like it if there were fun things to do, then why not do that? Set something up that's fun.

How're you holding up, Bucko?

Three of the Guardians have gone home already. What happens if you and North are next? [It's only one of the things on his mind right now.]

Oh come on, you know me and North, we're too stubborn to be dragged away if we don't want to.

[The rest of that? It doesn't much matter to her, she never met Jack let alone had much dealings with anyone else he mentioned.]

He is. He was pretty much a big brother to most of us kids here.
