I want t'know the stories o' this land. I know there's a war, and I've been fightin' me whole life. We have giants, too, where I'm from, but they're on our side, cast out o' the south and cursed to build that Wall o' theirs.

But these giants here? [She knows there's two sides to every story, and for as much as she hopes some of her people make it south, what Stannis has told her, she doubts it.] If there be constant attacks, I want to know what these giants think o' us, what did these gods do?

Did they steal their land?

[Not that she's entirely sympathizing with them, because she's been affected several times by what has happened.]

What about the giants? Do they have a king? Gods? What's their stories?

Kings, definitely. That's what Surt and Thiazi are.

There are tales in the Great Library of Odin - although those who have turned their efforts towards them say that many are incomplete or difficult to find.

The only thing I may add is that both the forces which attacked us had a ruler - Surt led the fire giants, and Thiazi those of ice. Whether there are others greater than them, I know not.

I cannot tell - the lady Thiazi, at least, is still alive. Surt may be as well, but I fear I was not involved in the recent skirmish so I know not their casualties. I doubt me that either perished however - likely, they still rule.

For info on the giants, yeah, you'll want to trot yourself over to the library. But take everything you read with a grain of salt. We still don't know for sure just what's true and what's not. We really only have the full brunt of one perspective.

There's not much information to be had. As far as the giants go, the fire giants have a king, Surt. The ice giants have Thiazi their queen. You can scan the network and find her numerous taunts to the travelers and the gods for more details.

Yet to be determined but it looks like the source of this is outside the two parties in conflict. The clues are in the prophecy of Ragnarok. It specifically refers to the end of the world and we've found, the end of all worlds.

The gods are trying to prevent the destruction. The frost queen is trying to rip the gods souls out and use them to stay alive through it. In case it wasn't clear, she'll remake reality as it suits her if she pulls it off.

[While it's a good point, Alice can't see it. Then again, it's enforced by dislike of the giants purely because of Alfheim. She's furious about it still. She doesn't know much of the history of giants, but being the way she is...]

There are some who will take for the sake of taking. Because they take power from it without any real motive or resentment. Because they can. While we deal with our fair share of giants, need I not remind anyone here in this realm that even our fellow travelers are capable of such malice. What difference does it make if they stole land or not? That should be the least of our worries. They want us dead.

I would think that the Ice Giants are far more akin to the Others than the giants of our realm.

The giants have a monarchy, and doubtless stories of their own -- as to gods, I suppose that we must consider the particular role of gods in this world. They may hold faith to certain beings, I do not know; but the gods here seem to act more as rulers than divine abstracts. The city of Asgard is presided over by the gods, as the giants seem to be ruled by Surt and Thiazi. Certainly both hold a deal more power than your average giant.

What are your giants like?

Quiet mostly. Good workers. Quick to anger, and a bit slow, but they'll kill anything they don't like easy enough, so they're good to have on your side.
