[So before Joseph starts talking, he's messing around with a pair of clacker balls - the gift he was given after the funeral. It was kinda nice to have them back, though with his artificial hand, it is a bit more difficult to use them - he doesn't seem as dexterous as he would be, though it would probably be hard to tell considering that he's kept his artificial hand under a glove at all times when in public anyway.]
So apparently this is the place for the important questions. [He cracks a bit of a grin - obviously how important varied according to each person, but that was neither here or there.]
Alright, I got one.
So we got people asking about abilities we had back home and what we got here now and all that good stuff. What I'm wondering is a bit different.
Hobbies. Fun stuff. What are you guys doing when you're not partying it up with the locals or getting ready for a fight? [While he's asking, he does a bit of a flourish, and the balls themselves seem to vanish for a few moments until he pulls them back out from behind him - good to know that he still had it.] Like me? I like reading comics. Y'know, superhero stuff. Doing little things like this - [He demonstrates another quick flourish with the clackers - this time switching which hand had them in midair] too. Dunno if that'd be enough to pique anyone's interest, but hey, nothing ventured, nothing gained, right?

audio;
Really? What kind of books were you reading back home?
[Despite appearances, Joseph did like reading once in a while - after all, how else would he have known about The Art of War enough to quote it directly at one of his opponents?]
audio;
[Said friend is a very very famous author by your time, Joseph.]
audio;
[Damn useful when trying to cook up schemes on the fly, though. :')]
audio;
Niccolò is quite the philosopher, and more than once have I had an interesting conversation with him in regards to certain ideals.
[Doesn't that name sound familiar...?]
audio;
Niccolò - Italian name. Also philosopher. Interesting ideals.
Wait a damn minute.]
Wait - you were buddies with Machiavelli?!!
audio;
...sì, I still am. He and I meet quite often.
[His tone is curious at this.]
Do you know him?
audio;
And it's ... definitely interesting. Wouldn't say I agree with all of what he wrote, but he does make some good points.
audio;
audio;
[There's a small undeniable pout in his voice but he won't acknowledge it. :T]
audio;
[You sir, are a very interesting, if not amusing, man.]
audio;
... point taken. Probably should've assumed that with you apparently knowing Machiavelli personally and all.
audio;
It is fine. But being in the past is not all entirely awful. You learn a great deal just by listening.
