♛ 10th Curious Thought [Video] Day 416 || Fierce Allies Part I

[Having spent the night of the funeral at the Ice Rink with a sleepover, Alice was quite bright-eyed and chipper in the morning. And when she awoke to beautiful talking flowers? Why, it felt like home! Alice had been speaking with them all morning when she went home to her garden.

That wasn't of course why she was making her post. The funeral had got her to thinking about everything going on in Asgard. Marigold, her dragon was in her lap and seemed to be purring alongside some tiger lilies. Lady bell, her gryphon was napping not too far in the background.]

Shush now, please. [She said to the flowers first and they made soft noises of protest.] We'll continue our conversation in moment... [Alice assured them which seemed to placate most of the flowers.]

I know... a lot of people left not too long ago, not just that, but a lot of natives are getting hurt too. And now... with Mr. Odin asleep...

[Maybe she should have started this differently.]

What I mean to say is...

["Deep breaths," a poppy reached out with a leaf resting it on Alice's hand. Alice did just that.]

I should start over. What I'm trying to say is, with so many of us coming and going, and the gods always under attack alongside the rest of us, our allies in Vanaheim and Alfheim in the same situation, I thought, perhaps we should have allies who are a bit more...

Well... not a bit... who are quite a lot more terrifying.

Dragons, that is.

These dragons. [Here she held up a book from the grand library picturing one of the dragons of Yggdrasil to the bracelet.] This is a dragon of this world. And I've been studying what little there is written on them. They're incredibly intelligent and very powerful. Apparently, not too long ago, Surt and Thiazi had some as allies. I say had for a reason.

What if we could get them to become our allies? I'm sure if we made a convincing enough case, or plea, or... something they might join our side! Now, I know the books, and probably the gods, will even say that the dragons, the real ones and not ones we draw, are next to impossible to find.

That's why I propose a second idea! What if we drew dragons, dragons that looked exactly like the Yggdrasil dragons, same size and everything to go looking for the other dragons! With the way Yggdrasil is changing, nothing could survive better than a dragon! Plus, if it's another dragon, the real dragons will be easier to find! We could attach our messages to our drawn dragons and send them to every nook and cranny in Yggdrasil! One of them is bound to find at least one of them if we have enough!

And if nothing else, we'll have some very big, some very strong giant hand-drawn dragons on our side even if we can't get the real dragons to help us!

["You did very well, dear," the flowers all seemed to agree and Alice thanked them. She snapped her fingers, as if just remembering something]

OH! And I should mention, the flowers, they're harmless, talkative, but completely harmless! Or as harmless as most flowers actual are. They're very big on manners though, so please be polite to them. They're not fond of rudeness.

[The littler Alice was just as excitable as the dog as she was quick to pick up the white fluff ball and hold him close and tight. The puppy licks her face and she pets him under his chin and behind his ears. She set him down and then looked around, plucking an all black kitten from her position on the table nearby.]

This is Nightshade! Nightshade, this is Miss Alice.

[Nightshade was too busy eying the white ball of fur to be any sort of friendly.]

Nightshade is actually very good with dogs. [Since they had the horse of a dog that Rory owned.] She's just... a bit nervous is all.

[That makes the older Alice a bit wounded, as Koyuki almost scampers in the room. Alice is quick enough to scoop her up. The puppy is a little bit bigger, but Alice won't risk frightening a little kitten.

Not until she got a good scent and vice versa. She'll just have to deal with being cradled in her arms, that's all. Alice smiles faintly and the other Alice will know this.]

She looks like Dinah when she was much younger, almost.

[Nightshade will be friendly soon, Alice, fret not. Said kitten, in fact, is quite content to stay in older Alice's arms. Her nails dug into her pinafore.]

She does! Her eyes are a different color though, and Dinah's face was rounder. But Nightshade is just as sweet and almost as clever.

[It feels surreal holding a kitten again. She remembers how they used to purr, how they couldn't stop purring up until the reach a certain age. The look on her face is wide-eyed as much as the kitten's. Good lord it's cute, as she scratches underneath the left side of her chin. She doesn't see Koyuki making rounds in little Alice's room.

Huff.]

I don't think any cat could be as clever as Dinah.

[Wait, Koyuki.]

Koyuki, come back here!

Cheshire might beg to differ. [Alice suddenly giggled as Koyuki ran off.]

It's alright! Besides, there's tea! He'll come back when he's had his fill of the house!

[Up until Koyuki decides to chew on something, Alice figures. She keeps that comment to herself as she leans down to place the kitten gingerly down and after that, Alice starts venturing into the room quietly.]

You'll have to forgive her, then, she's been getting more and more spirited as time goes on. She even cornered Bunny when I was sure she wouldn't.

And he didn't take that kindly.

[Which she means to say that freaked him out.]

Well, I'm sure with time she'll get used to Bunny! But he's so big! I can't see how he would have been cornered in the first place? His foot is bigger than her.

[Hey, little sis, you want to know a secret?

She even glances around before even taking a seat and back to the little girl. This reminds her of when her elder sister gossiped with her as a child.]

He is, twice my size, even. I suppose even a giant rabbit cannot squash their fear of dogs, even the most little. All Koyuki wanted to do was play with him and she had him cornered.

[She says it with the straightest face, but hey, it is funny. Even Alice laughed.]

[At first, Alice bit her lip to try and stop the laugh. But it wormed it's way up through her nose to make a snorting sort of laugh that just caused her to let go. Bunny? Running around, from such a tiny dog? She's in fits.]

[It is funny.

She smiles, which is the closest she gets to laughing herself, outside of a gentle sigh. She's happy to see her laugh and it'll be a good memory for when she's really upset.]

[She is still laughing, finally catching her breath and bringing Alice into the kitchen to set the tea and teacups onto the tray. It was a tea set she only ever used for the older Alice. A pale blue with deep blue and white water-color flowers along the sides with a white inside.

She got everything ready, the tea, the milk, sugar, lemon, honey, and a few scones before setting everything on a tray.]

Shall we go to the garden?

Here, let me help you.

[She offers her hands before they make way to the garden. She would feel guilty if she wasn't able to carry something aside from Koyuki.

Who just conveniently scampers by with an unseen sock in her mouth.]

[Alice doesn't protest the help as they head out to the garden to the white-painted iron table and chairs. Everything is set down and set up before Alice smiles and looks quite lovely. There are talking flowers all around them, both Marigold and Ladybell have flower crowns. It's something out of a picture book. Nightshade jumps up into a seat, waiting for attention.]

I'm glad you came.

Why wouldn't I come?

[She almost seems surprised by that statement. There's been stranger tea parties with unnecessarily long tables, mice, hares, and mad hatters jointly shared between the both of them and their pasts. So it shouldn't be surprising there's a number of animals between the two -- strange and normal.

If anyone counted a puppy doing fairly well with a kitten normal. As soon as she's settle and everything is placed on the table, the older Alice, of course, fluffs out her skirts and petticoats, so it pools comfortably around her. Just like her older sister.

Lizzie would be very pleased with her, and for once, there's no sadness attached to the thought of her older sister and herself at this age, in a similar situation.]

Oh ah... I didn't... I didn't mean it like that. I simply meant it as I'm glad for your company. I'm always glad for your company, I just don't think you get told that often enough.

I didn't mean to say I didn't expect you to.

[Just as before, when little Alice first said "I love you", the older Alice almost responds that it's been a long time since she heard that. She waves it off, with hesitation, settling herself after picking up Koyuki to rest on her lap.]

It's all right, I know. Even if you were to have a tea party underneath the ocean with carpenter and the walrus, I would go with you.

You should know better than anyone never to go to a tea party with the walrus and the carpenter. Even if you're not an oyster. [She smiled. She prepared the tea just as both of them liked it, placing it between them before preparing Ladybell and Marigold's tea.]

Oh, they know better now, I'm very sure.

[She should hear about the carpenter's new venture. And hey, this means she can actually peacefully consume tea without Hatter's antics. It is a little quaint, even as the little girl offers her animals tea.

As a matter of fact, the elder Alice doesn't even bat an eyelash at it. It's normal and anyone should know normalcy is a relative thing with the two Alice Liddells.]

Oh? Why do you say that? Did you see them again?

[Yes, they're both actually getting tea at a tea party, something that doesn't get to happen when the Hatter is involved.]

Carpenter decided to invest in theater.

[And that ended... well. Terribly. For a multitude of reasons. She's told little Alice briefly of this, but not to the extent of the Looking Glass train line being literally derailed.

Amongst other things.]

Which I don't recommend seeing; the walrus is a terrible actor. After all carpenter is best suited for building, no matter how creative he thinks he is.

Oh! Well, better that they invest in a theater than tricking oysters. I feel like that is a much better use of their time. I'm glad they aren't doing such things to little oysters, anymore.

But I shall keep that in mind that he is a dreadful actor.

All actions end in the same way.

[Which is to say, grimly, the little oysters didn't get that far. Carpenter is a jackass.]

You mean...? [If all things ended the same...]
