The powers backfiring was only the latest surge of incompetence in our history of failures. I have been here for several months already and it seems as if every victory is tempered by a greater loss. You all heard the voices those weeks ago. You know that we are losing this war.

And we will not win. We cannot make a difference. If Asgard is fated to fall, then we will succumb to that fate.

Here is my advice to you: give up now and cling to what is precious to you for as long as this world remains. When the time comes for it to end and destroy all of creation with it, you will regret the time you wasted fighting to save this city.

As much as I wish to follow your thoughtful suggestion, I do not believe I will be able to. Unlike most in this world, my most precious individual is not within this world. They are in my own world, awaiting for my return. How can I simply "give up", as you put it, if my only reason to live isn't here at the moment?

Even if I have no interest in other worlds, I do care about my own as long as my most precious person is there. You may give up, if it is your wish, but even a dog, like myself, understands that no one can demand for others to give up when they themselves have no confidence to call their own.
