day 402 / Video / Open to Action if you're in the Freyr District
[It's pointless to keep wandering the city looking for someone who can't be found, and ultimately it was a strange feeling that sent him back inside. Now Peeta's back to his baking. It's one of the two things he loves most; one of the two things he actually feels good at.
His hands are white with flour, kneading bread dough while wearing an apron with the words "Kneadful Things" printed ironically across it. He already has a few loaves cooling on the shelf behind him. The oven has the place plenty warm, so the smell of so much fresh bread might be drifting through the cracked-open door.]
This was all just fun and games a couple of months ago. But I think I'm ready to get this place up and running now.
[Peeta pauses, wiping his hands off and pulling a pad of paper closer to him.]
But no one gets very far on their own, right? I'll definitely need help, someone else who can bake or decorate cakes. Or someone who at least wants to learn. And then there's the deliveries.
[He finishes drawing and pulls a glass from the paper, ready to be filled with water.]
So if you're interested-
[Peeta doesn't get the chance to finish. The glass in his hand, made from his own power, suddenly shatters, and the shards slice deep into his palm. Peeta looks frozen with surprise, just staring at the blood that's quickly pooling in his hand and dripping across the table. He finally turns away and grabs a towel to wrap tightly around it.]
Okay...that's new.
[He tries to sound casual about it, despite being a little breathless as he not-so-subtly counting his fingers.]
(OOC: more information about peeta's bakery can be found here. if you'd like your character to work there, just comment to this post or shoot me a pm!)

-- and then the glass explodes and Effie gasps before turning on the video feed, looking concerned.]
Are you alright?
[ -- the boy lost a leg in the Games, so Effie is sure he's fine, but...]
[Peeta lowers his hand, making sure that it can't be see in the video anymore. Like hell he's going to make someone worry about him.]
Yeah, it's fine. I think I ruined that bread though.
I wouldn't serve it to the public, no.
[Pause.]
Do you need help?

Keep putting pressure on the wound. I can be there in five minutes to fix it.
[She's on her way home anyway, and she lives in Freyr -- a quick stop by Peeta's bakery is far from out of her way, and she can heal what's wrong with him. (Or try -- her healing is botched too, but she hasn't quite figured that out yet. It was a slow day at the hospital.)]
[He grits his teeth when he does it, and the cloth around his hand blooms even brighter.]
It's not possible to bleed to death in just five minutes, right Doc?
[The tiniest bit of sass in return, but she's certain he'll be fine. She's moving pretty quickly, anyway.]
[Peeta sits down, then remembers that thing about keeping it elevated.]
The door's open, just come on in.

permavideo;
How deep is it?
permavideo;
[Peeta nods at the instruction, but he unwraps it for a better look.]
I can't tell. The blood's really dark, and part of my hand feels sort of numb.

Someone coming to you, to take a look at it?

[He's already lost a leg, he really doesn't want to be down a hand too.]
Yeah...I think she might have the power of healing. You sound like you know your stuff, though.

Don't worry. Someone's on the way right now.

Would you like me to come over as well? Maybe to take a look at the bakery?

If you think you can stomach it, you should check so there's no glass left in your hand. Remove it if you can. Do you have gauzes or bandages?

[No Peeta, that does not count.]

['Upset' wasn't the word for his mother.]
I've just never had one shatter in my hand like that.
