oo1 (a n o n text) ♚ incy wincy spider climbed up the water spout
Picture the scene: Incy Wincy's just climbed the water spout
only to find the sky's grey with a chance of severe flood warnings, wide-spread sunny spells and the occasional flurry of snow
how does Incy feel?
is he angry?
confused?
cheated?
is he wondering if the weatherman actually bothered to study meteorology before hopping up onto the television screen?
Here's the kicker: yesterday he heard the sky went black at night. It was dark when he started his climb, so why's it day now?
How about you. How do you feel?

text.
and secondly, this is a metaphor for death, yes?

A question does not an answer make. That's a bad habit, you know.

Spiders can't think.
But as for your final question, I'm feeling a bit bored-though obviously, not as bored as others.
anon text;
that's disappointing to hear. I heard tell once that intelligent children never get bored.

Unless the weatherman said the opposite of what was happening, which you didn't include, so I can't make a full analysis.
That's a bit rude, isn't it. But it's his first thought. He's well aware that his first thoughts are not always the best ones.]
If he went up the water spout at night and found it day, it must have been a long climb, so I'd imagine he'd feel hungry.
[Death's already been said, he can't be a parrot. Also: if it has to do with someone dying, wouldn't they be hungry? Death takes a lot out of a person. He knows.]
I feel like I just read a bit of a complex metaphor about a spider who understands weather better than most people but didn't know that the sky was black at night until the day before.
[it feels
like a normal day
it feels oddly comforting
it feels like he needs a meal of questionable ingredients]

these are nice. nice fresh insights. the small, slow cock of a head - though he's got to be careful, he's on watch, so the smile is smothered and substituted for a mental run of the words on the screen.
finally (after not so very long at all) he takes up fingers in arms and notes, idle:]
Spider red,
Spider white,
Spider yet to see the night
Spider shadowed,
Spider's seen
Overhead or in between?
Spider seeing,
Spider blind,
Spider seeking not to find.
Spider's web
Spider's right

h u n g r y. he thinks it over for a moment.
an awful lot of learning to be done. an awful lot of people to sift through, and an awful lot of ants. but perhaps, amongst the chaff and rubble, some of them won't be entirely, incorrigibly ordinary.]
Hungry isn't far off.

Unless he was a trapdoor or a wolf spider, I guess? But those aren't so tiny. Probably wouldn't go climbing spouts, either.
As for myself? I feel like this is probably the longest I've bothered thinking about spiders, with a side of wondering just how much you're going to end up sighing at some of the responses you'll get here.
[anon text]
Oh, plenty. still, I opened the floodgates, I'll deal with the flood. perhaps you should think on spiders a little more often, however. They've more influence than you'd think.

It's always the anons as well. I would assume you're the same person but Asgard is bustling with bored masterminds. I suppose they all need a hobby.
Either way, the spider is fucked. Be it escaping the rain, it's location, the boredom or the Gods big lovely boot stomping down on it. Just got to hope the spider has enough of a bite to leave an impression.
