Finnick Odair is... I don't think he's here anymore. I can't find him anywhere, and he isn't in the contact list, so. I thought those who knew him should be told.

I'm so sorry to hear it. Finnick was a darling, really. And one of the first friends I made in the city. [ a beat ] But that means he's gone home, right? Which is good. [ Lily obviously has no idea what he's going home to nope ]

I know. I know they do. [If she repeats it enough times she might convince herself and everyone else, right?]

...But sometimes, Peeta. What do we do until "sometimes" happens?

[ Allison looks disappointed, to say the least, but she's not going to ask if the other girl's 100% certain. Instead, she'll go with: ]

[Oh. Well. This isn't awkward or anything. But if Lily was one of Finnick's friends then she deserves an answer of some kind, so Annie shakes her head.]

It's bizarre, isn't it? Getting used to the idea that someone being gone is only a momentary thing. There's no real... finality to anything here.

Yeah, I'm told I did the same at least once, so it seems pretty common? Just wish we could know one way or the other, for certain.

It's difficult to say whether or not there's a pattern, but some people seem more tied to this place than others. Some people tend to come and go without any memory of this place at all -- some people remember. I wish I could give you a better answer, but Yggdrasil still has mysteries, I guess.

He didn't, no. And I suppose that's why. [ a beat ] Were you and Finnick both from the same point in time? From home, did you have the same memories?

[ Allison smiles and shakes her head. ] Not at all, actually. It kinda reminded me of someone else I know. [ More precisely how Scott probably used to talk about her all the time. ] It was really cute, seeing how much he adored you.

There isn’t… but that also makes it easier not to give up. There’s always the hope that the people we lose will come back.

[He knows the answer, he needs her to say it, needs her to remember they have actually been through this together before, he is already in motion to go to her. To show up at her door like she did the last time, he and Finnick took care of the girls; now it would just be him and Peeta instead.
