Ahem. [Does she have your attention now? Yes? Good.] I hope people are still hungry, after being away to fight for so long, 'cause I made some food to share with everybody!

[Rue proudly shows off the mac and cheese and spiced chicken meatballs...which are both sort of messily plated, but they taste better than they look, honest!]

Back home, sharing food is really important after coming back from a long day at work. It's the same for war, right? I just wanted to do this now for everybody who went to the elves' kingdom because... [Shifty eyes. Hopefully Katniss and the others don't catch on to this too quickly.] I'm going with you next time. But I have to find somebody to teach me how to fight first.

Um, anyways! I'm gonna be at the park. There's some benches and tables we can use to eat if you want some of the food. You should bring some easy recipes for me to try if you have any, too!

Because somebody promised they would teach me how to make PB&J sandwiches. [Yes, she's looking at you, Stiles.]

Nah, I saw it in a movie about little girl detectives they played on ABC when I was your age. They got grilled cheese where you're from?

No...I think we don't have a lot of the foods you do.

[What they had was simple and in small amounts most of the time.]

[Fiona assumes this means they don't have the types of food, like how they didn't have sushi and shit in America until it was imported. Shortages don't occur to her; she's used to being the one making due with less, not the other way around.]

Well, grilled cheese is pretty simple. Just grease a pan, take some cheese, put it between two slices of bread, and wait until the cheese is all melty before you eat it. You can throw some veggies in, too, make a real meal outta it.

[That sounds easy enough! Rue’s confident enough that she can make this without making a mess of it.]

I can make some and you can tell me if it tastes okay next time!

[Volunteering Fiona as her taste-tester, no biggie.]

[Fiona hardly has a problem with that. She seems like a sweet kid, who cares?] Sure. I'm Fiona, I work at the school. If you make a lot, we can all share it.

You work at the school?

[She’s been thinking about taking a look around there.] What do you teach?

Nah, I'm the secretary. I organize all the papers and get grades posted, that kinda thing.

That doesn't sound like a lot of fun. Does it ever get boring?

[ffuckoff]

Well... yeah. That's what jobs are, they're mostly boring and not really fun. I don't mind it, it's better than cleaning out sewer grates. [Her tone is joking.]

But some people are musicians and painters. That's fun, isn't it?

[And ewww. Don't mind her wrinkling her nose now. Gross!]

Is there a job like that here?

Yeah, I guess, but somebody's gotta organize shit an set it straight. Everybody can't be an artist.

I dunno, I didn't look. I can only draw stick figures.
