[This didn't go the way Alice had imagined it to be. There's nothing at first but some scampering and what appears to be a small, white flash that sprints by. Or more like a small, white fluffy thing that runs by, followed by Alice Liddell senior scampering after it. It takes some coaxing on Alice's part, who seems honestly more excited than frustrated. What is this?

She picks it up, but it's not what it may seem at first. That would be a puffball of a dog. Who Alice absolutely coos over, snuggling the little thing.]

Oh, finally! She just put up such a fight to show you all. But look everyone? Isn't she just precious? I think you are.

[You know, if you find a small dog chewing on your hands cute. Why not? Alice does.]

Mr. Will Graham was kind enough to let me give her a new home. Ow. But I haven't thought of a name for her! She reminds me of a rabbit even a snowball. I am afraid if I let her go in the snow, she'll fall into a snow drift and I'll take forever to find her.

[But the way she's lit up and cradles the dog just shows how over-joyed she is.]

I wish for the life of me I knew what was so delicious about fingers.

But of course she is! She just happens to be small and have a very thick coat.

[She wonders if this sounds silly. Sure, cradle the puppy, Alice. It seems to be a playful little thing while she kicks her hind legs while Alice holds her.]

But are those a bit childish? I wasn't sure. When I was a child I had a kitten named Snowdrop, you see.

Yes! I wasn't aware of such a breed of dogs before! She seems to be little energetic, although that's no different from a kitten.

[Of course she says this barely wincing at the little dog pulling on the sleeves of her dress.]

I am not quite sure. I was thinking of something a bit more adult compared to the prior names I gave my cats in the past when I was a little girl.

She's so small, I could make a bag for her and carry her around everywhere.

Dinah was the mother cat and her children were named Snowdrop and Kitty. Granted, when I had them, I was about seven years old.

Well, Dinah's a fine name for an animal! You could give this one a name like a person might have, too.

Oh, yes! That was something I've had in mind as well. But what about you? What sort of names are you fond of?

I usually name my cats after figures from ancient Egypt. The one I received for Christmas, I called Amewbis. A bit silly, I know.

I don't think it sounds silly at all. What was Amewbis?

Well, Anubis was a god invoked while mummifying a body. But of course, he had the head of a jackal, and my cat hasn't, so I thought Amewbis might be more appropriate.

My last cat was named Cleocatra; I know puns are supposed to be the lowest form of humour, but I suppose I can't resist.

On the contrary, I don't think so, not at all. They may be puns, but they still have a meaning to them. That is what I want, something that is meaningful because she is just as meaningful and important as a human.

Then you should think about what's meaningful to you. I'm sure you can find a suitable name for a dog from there.

I suppose that's true if it doesn't sound ridiculous. I tend not to think of a cat or a dog like an object I own. Dinah and her children were dear friends to me.

In that case, you might need to choose a name you're fond of and leave it at that.
