So... I may have gotten caught up in the Asgardian holiday spirit -- well --

[Daphne is horrible at speaking on camera, she has no idea why she even attempted to sound not ridiculous.]

Because when it snows this much at home, it's usually time to prepare for Christmas. And I bake a lot for Christmas and ... I may have gone overboard.

[She adjusts her bracelet -- she's within her home in Freyr, and shows a nice wide view of her kitchen. On her counter is... an insane amount of cookies, pies, cakes, donuts -- enough to cause the obesity rate in America to triple.

When the camera is refocused on her, she looks slightly sheepish.]

So... does anyone want Christmas cookies? Please take them -- my husband will eat them all if I don't give them away. I can leave some in the welcome halls or -- maybe some of the gods are interested?

[Do they even eat cookies?]

The last time he had some, they were a present from Freya. It would not hurt to try some more. It also-- wouldn't hurt him to actually go back and listen carefully to the rest of the video. His patience wears, but he replies as soon as he gets the general idea of what she's up to.]

Whoa--

Did you seriously make all that stuff? Does it taste good? What's in the pies? What's that round thing?

[There's a slightly started laugh at the enthusiasm, but she answers his questions in turn.]

Yes. I hope so. Apple, pumpkin, and blueberry. Berry danish.

[Her laughter makes him only slightly apprehensive. But there's food - and arguing with that is never a good plan.

She'd done well to answer all of his questions, but he can barely remember what he'd asked in the first place.]

Can I try some?

Of course! That's why I'm offering, right?

So, where are ya again? You said right-- I think I forgot.

You like to bake?

I love to bake -- and cook -- but I had a lot of ideas on what to do for Christmas present and I decided to test them all.

[And

the result is a lot of cookies]

The frosting on some of them is a little crooked, but they'll taste fine.

Frosting's tricky, but they looked perfect to me. I don't suppose you'd want to trade some for some cheese buns?

Oh, you're sweet -- and you don't have to trade anything for them, you can just have them. 'tis the spirit.

[With a gentle smile.]

But seeing as I have the feeling that you're going to insist, I love cheese buns.

I would love cookies!

Then they are yours for the taking!

[With a slight laugh, and Daphne sends him the coordinates to where she and Castiel live in the Freyr district.]

Unless you would rather me bring them to you -- we have cats and a dog, just so you know.

No, that's okay, I can stop by. Have a look at your place.

If you want.

[The Doctor (in addition to the three or so other versions Daphne has met) is a trustworthy person. She doesn't think Castiel will mind having company over.]

Just -- so long as you don't mind cats, I live in the Freyr paid housing.

I love cats.

Think I know a handful of people that might enjoy a cookie or two. I've baked some of my own, but they're not ever as good as all the others.

[She smiles, giving a light shrug of her shoulders.]

Your husband, though. Did he show up here with you, or is it a someone you met here sort of marriage?

You can have as many as you want!

[She softens, though, at her question.]

He's from home. I was lucky enough to find him here when I arrived.

That's amazingly lucky, actually. It must make things easier, having him here. It's one less person back home you've got to worry about.

I worry about him regardless, but I count my blessings every single day.

[Daphne doesn't have a future with him in their universe -- this is the only chance they get. She's thankful for every second.]

Course you worry about him. Think that's only natural, given what he must mean to you. Things here haven't been too difficult for the pair of you, have they?

Not... too difficult, no.

[There have been problems, but none of them have to do with Asgard. Mostly with their home world and what is to come of her.]

You got cookies? I'd like some!

What district are you in? I can leave them in the welcome hall.

Of course! What kinds would you like?

There's more than one kind?! [This is heaven.]

I think I have about half a dozen kinds.

Could I try one from each?

You could try three from each if you like.

So many?! That's so nice of you!

Hm... I'm not sure I could eat all of these, but there are many young people in the Sigyn Welcome Hall. I think they would appreciate them, milady...

I could leave a plate in the welcome hall.

[Daphne is from Sigyn herself, so she doesn't mind giving back a little.]

[he nearly hangs up without saying a word.]

Do you know how to make chocolate cake?

I do -- I've been told I'm good at it, anyway, but I suppose everyone else will have to be the judge of that.

[Daphne is Abnegation at her finest.]

I would like to learn how to make it.

[Tobias himself is Abnegation and Dauntless, he wants to be all of them, not just one. But he really does like chocolate cake and a piece of home would feel good.]
