Greetings!

[Aethas sits proudly in the center of the screen. The sweater is gone, may he never see it again, sweet Sunwell, and he's after a job now.

Working at a library or restaurant is grunt work. Now, tutoring-- tutoring he can do.]

As a recent arrival, I find myself in need of employment. This is not to request connections or recommendations: instead I wish to offer my services in various fields. I would apply to Mister Snape's school, but I suspect my knowledge is too specialized for the daily curriculum.

I have yet, for example, to recognize what an Egypt is.

[He leans forward, his ears twitching in excitement.]

As some of you may already know, I am Aethas Sunreaver. To be more accurate, I am Archmage Aethas Sunreaver, former member of the Council of Six-- the ruling council of a large city-- and current leader of the Sunreavers, a large contingent of elven military magi. I have also trained multiple magi as apprentices, several of which hold prominent academic and military positions.

I have studied magic for approximately a hundred and thirty-four years, and in that time I have learned multiple languages and trades. While some are no longer applicable in this situation, and are likely very useless, I can offer training in the Sin'dorei styles of quarterstaff fighting, fencing, riding, and painting. As well as this, I can also offer instruction in the following languages:

Zandali, the language of my world's trolls; Orcish; Darnassian, the language of night elves; Thalassian, my people's native language; Common, the language of humans; and Gnomish, the language of, shockingly, gnomes.

Obviously, you will not find daily conversation in these languages, both inside and outside Asgard. But I feel some of you may be interested in the enrichment of the process. Considering this, I also offer lessons in Azerothian history, magical theory, and theology.

You teach art?

I do! Admittedly in Sin'dorei style, which may not be to your tastes, but I learned to paint as a child and carried the art with me as an adult. It is most useful for records.

I've never heard of such a style. [Obviously.]

What's it like?

I cannot speak for the comparison to humans from your world, but for mine, it is much more ornate. Intricate. A focus on the natural beauty of Quel'Thalas is popular. I particularly enjoy architecture.

It is, admittedly, not appealing for all humans. I have seen it described as 'tacky' or 'gaudy' by detractors.

[Aethas' frown makes it clear what he thinks of that.]

My focus is Japanese art, landscape and backgrounds.

Do you have an example?

[He shakes his head, his hands raising to show open palms.]

Unfortunately, not at this time. Art requires some degree of money, and I will first need to find a job. I confess I was not expecting much interest in my skills with art. [He pauses.] If you will give me a week, I shall have something to display as an example. I understand if your interest wears before then, however.

Particularly as I must confess that Japanese art is unfamiliar to me.

It won't. [When he's stressed art is very much his escape.]

I could paint something as an example.

I would be pleased to see it! Different styles are always exciting to explore. [He peers at the man for a moment.] I shall work on my own example in the mean time. I believe this will be a grand exchange!

[For a moment, he smiles. A challenge? He barely ever turned his work in on time in class.]

Egypt is a transcontinental country located on the planet Earth.

[It takes care to keep the annoyance out of his voice and face. Precocious and condescending children were a copper a dozen in Dalaran, and, if he was honest, he'd been one himself.]

Ah! Well, that explains quite a bit, then. You have my thanks. I'm quite unaware of Earth's intricacies for obvious reasons. [His ears twitch as he smiles.]

[ Kaworu nods, with a smile ]

May I ask where are you from?

Azeroth. I suspect that means little to you, however, as Earth meant little to me not that long ago!

If you wish, I could explain more, but I'm aware it can be quite boring.

You have discovered Earth, however? How?

You may tell me simply what you deem important.

[Aethas shrugs and smiles.]

From encountering people from Earth in Asgard. There is no shortage of them, though there is a deficit of those who hail from Azeroth. I assume you are from Earth?

Did it shock you? To discover different worlds from your own?

Yes, I am.

No. My world has come into contact with many others-- both hostile and not. For there to be legions of others is hardly a surprise. Yourself?

Not at all. Why would Earth be the only one to have forms of life?

Are you enjoying Asgard so far?

It is a fascinating place, if distressing in some ways. But that describes most locales, even in my own world.

[He leans back in his chair.] Have you been here long?

Is it too different from what you know?

For over a year. [ kaworu smiles. He likes Asgard. ]

I presently lack the funds to finance any such extended education, but if you ever care to make a trade, Aethas, you know where to find me.

I am capable in my world's mathematics and natural sciences, alchemy, animal husbandry, herbology, classical literature, wizarding history and law, as well as a number of human and magical languages.

And of course, the basics of various household chores.

To either end, I wish you only the best of luck in your endeavours -- I really must ask you more of the Council one day.

Albus! One hardly charges friends. Consider it a mutual exchange, if nothing else!

I'll gladly learn what you have to offer. My knowledge of wizarding history and law is obviously lacking, and linguistically-- well! We shan't speak of it.

You need merely ask about the Council, and I'll gladly tell you its history. Admittedly, it comes wrapped up in a snarl of other items, but I hardly think you'll mind.

[ Merlin save us, the archmage is using exclamation points. This can't mean anything good. ]

Histories seldom escape the clinging arms of the societies and circumstances around them wholly intact. I welcome it all, and look forward to speaking.

Thank you most kindly for the painting, by the by. You've quite a skilled hand for drafting, and a keen eye for colour. I should aspire to as much, did I think I ever had a hope of matching such artistry.

Years of training can make even the most inexpert hand skilled! I guarantee you, Albus, much effort was wasted on turning me into a competent painter. But, nevertheless, I thank you for the compliment.

I must thank you as well for the supplies-- my attentions were focused on watercolours and canvas, and I forgot to gather proper paper and pencils! If you don't mind the forwardness, I'll gladly share the results.

I should be delighted to look over any that you cared to share, tell me -- is it common practice in your world as well to enchant movement to them?

It is possible, but not common! I've seen a handful in Dalaran, a city of magi, but nothing to place it as common, even in Silvermoon, my race's capital. I assume it is in yours?

Exceedingly so. It's currently quite the fad with photographs, but common to paintings and sketches back to antiquity. Of no particular importance, but interesting, all the same. I suspect an art historian would have a field day comparing the varying popularity of techniques between worlds.

Egypt is a place, not a thing.

Regardless, I don't see why your skills would be too specialized for the school.

I am unsure of how embraced such a foreign style would be. I'm quite aware that Earth humans are predominant in Asgard, and it's quite understandable that children from such a place would wish to learn their own people's styles!

And yes-- people have explained to me Egypt. I apologize for my ignorance! I've only recently begun learning about Earth.
