[The video opens to Severus looking very haggard, pale, almost haunted looking. Like for many people, the past week has been downright horrendous for Severus. The things that unfolded for him in the mirror world have left him unable to sleep; and he's been working overtime, clearing up the mess in the school that was left in the wake of the earthquake.

But, for once in his bleak, miserable life, he also looks rather colourful.

The lights on the jumper are flashing, too; they light up his face in different angles, throwing unflattering shadows here and there, across his abnormally large nose (making his nose look even larger) and across his sunken, tired eyes (making the dark bags under his eyes look even darker). The worst part? He has no idea how to turn the blasted lights off.

To make matters even more irritating, his emu, Steven, has been trying to attack the flashing lights ever since Severus woke up this morning in this ridiculous jumper. In fact, Steven can be seen lurking in the background now, bright eyed, curious, barely able to contain his eagerness to attack the shiny, sparkly things that look like edible insects to him.

Suffice it to say, Severus is not in a good mood. But one might argue that that's no different to how Severus normally is.

However. He is going to pretend that he's not wearing the hideous jumper. He is pretending very, very hard. Complete professionalism here. Nobody had better laugh at him!!1]

Just a quick announcement to say that, as of tomorrow, the school will officially open.

I have written up a school schedule. Teachers and students, please take the time to familiarise yourself with it. Should there be any questions or issues, please direct them to me personally.

[Look at the way the flashing lights keep lighting up his face in all kinds of unflattering angles, though!!]

If you are under the age of 18 and you wish to attend the school but have not registered your details with me, please do so as soon as possible.

[Steven is standing right behind Severus now. He's moving his head twitchily, cocking it down to peer over Severus' shoulder at those lovely flashing lights! Any second now, he's going to attack. Any second now…

Not that Severus is aware of him standing there. Not yet, at least.]

Which brings me to my next point. As a number of people over the age of 18 expressed an interest in undertaking education, I am now working towards catering for mature-aged students as well. If you are over the age of 18 and are interested in enrolling at the school, please leave a message with me and I will get back to you as soon as possible to discuss things with y--

[He's suddenly interrupted by Steven dashing his long neck over his shoulder and furiously attacking one of the lights. Gotta get one of the tasty-looking flashing insects before his master stops him!]

Stop that, you--!

[The bird has a hold of one of the lights. He's pulling and twisting it. He's pulling it so hard that he's tugging the giant red bow right up over Severus' face. And one of the lights is now flashing right up his left nostril.

There's a great deal of (rather frantic) fumbling around before the feed suddenly ends.]

[And just as he says that, he slaps the bow from out of Steven's beak before giving him an impatient shooing motion with his hand.

The bird obeys. Reluctantly. For now.

He returns his attention to Miss Crocker.]

That's fine. Arrange to have one delivered to my office as well, if possible.

Weekly assemblies are merely a chance for teachers and students to be informed and updated on the goings on in the school. If you feel attending them will be useful to you, then do so, by all means.

I'll also note that, as you are in charge of admin, you can take over dealing with enrollments.

[He fixes her with a flat look at her comment about how emus apparently taste.]

You were saying something about dropping out of school.

Are you in possession of a falcon?

[He scowls at her laughter. He's still scowling even after she stops.]

Is that deranged man going to cause me any problems?

[Severus had actually taken immense pleasure in watching Joel tear Voldemort a new one, though he really doesn't care to be on the receiving end of Joel's rage. He needs to know Joel won't cause him any grief.]

[He's angrily shooing the bird away while yanking the massive bow out of the bird's beak. His gaze is then sharply back on the video, at the young girl before him.]

Fine, thank you. What do you mean, you haven't been to school in a while? How long is 'a while'?

[Watching to make sure he is okay.]

A-ah, well, I've only been here a couple days but I left home a year ago. Mm, even if I was still there I don't know where I'd go to school since they shut ours down.

Sure thing, I'll see what I can scrounge up.

Okay, I'll pop my head in and see if it's necessary.

And, yeah, that'd be great. I was thinking we could organize that alphabetical by first name? Since... I'm not sure everybody's gonna have a last name, here.

[She's trying so, so hard not to laugh at the emu. Or the sweater. Or the end of that feed. Trying and actually almost making it. She at least has the decency to hide her smile from behind her hand.]

Ready to report for teaching duty first thing tomorrow. [There's a little salute given, and she settles in to become more serious.]

Also, if enough adults express interest, I wouldn't object to assisting any lessons you might see fit offering to them.

[Another pause, and then she has an idea for his emu problem. Her face lights up with a smile, and she hurries over to her wardrobe to pull out another ugly, ridiculous light up sweater. She's acquired it in her attempt to remove the original sweater she was "gifted".]

Think I have something that might be a bit of a distraction for that beak of his. I could bring it by, try hanging it on a chair or something. See if he likes that better than what's on you.

He seems to be awfully troublesome whenever you address the network, though.

[She straightens a little.] Oh! No, I just - I'm looking forward to starting classes, sir! That's all.

[Yeaaah the sweater kind of ruins the effect there, Snape.]

I figured I should probably learn more about plants first before taking potions.

Oh lighten up a little. It doesn't hurt to accept criticisms, Snivellus.

[Yep, he's been talking to Barty. Plenty of ammo for this one.]

Death is not the worst you can do to someone. There are so many things in the universe worse than death. And besides, it means so little here.

I think, friend, you come prepared.

Yeah. I was kinda on the run at the time. Plus who really needs to know when the Battle of Hastings was anyway. Neither side even had dragon riders.

But then I do think over a hundred years of schooling was perhaps overkill. May have scarred me a little.

Do you need help? Not about, you know, your pet, but with setting up anything else with the school.

I was going to compliment how young you look, but I suppose you change face, too.

Back in school, Severus was already a charmer. Not very nice to weaker people he didn't like. And then there were some boys that didn't like him.

Funny thing, they're almost all here.

Changed it nearly twenty times. But I am rather attached to this one, I like it a lot.

Was he that mean little kid that no one liked and thus took it out on everyone else? [aka the Master at school.]

Seriously? Ouch. Poor Snivels.

I can see why. [He doesn't say anything else, but he's so purposefully grinning.]

Not really. He had people that feared him and people he could use. He was quite creative, actually. Talented. He didn't like anyone though. And he was just scary, ugly and mean enough he made a good target for a certain type of bragging idiot.

[A sharp pause that probably gives away more than he intends it to.

Oh hell, no. He's going to play ignorant to that horrible nickname in hopes that doing so will enlighten him as to how this man knows to call him that. James Potter, probably, Severus thinks with utmost disgust.

He manages, however, to keep his face schooled into a look of stern neutrality.]
