[Directly after the successful rescue of those trapped in the mirror Asgard and the aftermath of that, when things had calmed other than the intense heat, Castiel had decided to take it easy for a little bit. He'd just died--again--and more importantly Daphne had been a bit traumatized, and so some rest and time to devote to taking care of his wife, and Sam as well, had been in order. Hence why his bossy face hadn't appeared on the network to address the happenings as of yet.

Of course, though, nothing can really ever go as planned.]

[He had disappeared the night of day 365, quietly and without fanfare, one moment sleeping in his bed next to Daphne and the next gone. He doesn't know he's gone while he is, of course, and not a great deal of time passes at home--just a few months, nothing major--but as usual, a lot happens.

Still, when Castiel finds himself back in Asgard, suddenly in Odin district, near the library, he's more than a little confused as memories suddenly click back into place. Everything, for a few minutes, is a blurred jumble and he has to sit down on the ground and close his eyes to sort it out. When he opens them, he feels dizzy but no longer so confused, and is able to figure out what he should do next.

He's back in Asgard. He has no idea how much time has passed here, no idea who--if any--of his friends remain, he doesn't know if he's broken his promise and Daphne is gone. What if there's been an attack? What if he's needed?

It's scorching hot and he awkwardly shrugs out of his damaged suitcoat as he sits there, before he does anything else, and once he's free of it he catches sight of his bracelet. Right. The bracelet. He should call someone, or just make a post, something; he realizes belatedly that he should be seen by a healer. Daphne would be the best choice, but he doesn't know if she's still here, and part of him is terrified to find out she's not.

For that reason it takes another minute or so for Castiel to gather his courage and turn on his bracelet, even though it's the middle of the night and who knows who would still be awake; he's a little too scrambled still to be all that concerned with such things. It's video by default and he leaves it that way, not bothering to change it.

He's disheveled and tired, face bruised and covered in blood that continues down his neck and soaks his unbuttoned white shirt. His normally messy hair is even messier, most of it sticking almost straight up, and the only composed thing about him is that he looks focused, determined. Braced for bad news.]

It seems I have been... Gone. I don't know how long.

If there is anyone I know still here, I need to speak with you.

[A small pause as he licks his lips to continue, and briefly makes a face at the taste of blood on his split lip.]

And if there are any healers awake and willing to assist me, it would be... Appreciated.

[It isn't that far to the hospital, but he doesn't at all have the energy for that right now. If someone's willing to come to him, he'll take the help, and with any luck it will be someone he knows. Maybe even his wife.

Now, to hope, and wait.]

[The feed immediately clicks on to show a very pale, very worried, very frustrated Daphne Allen, who looks like she's about to cry. She had woken up to find him missing, had torn apart the city to find him still missing, and now he's turned up looking as if someone's attempted to kill him, which makes her feel sick.

She manages to hold bursting into tears down enough to manage a frustrated:]

Never do that to me again, do you understand me?

[And she sucks in a breath, eyes full of tears.]

Stay right there and don't move a muscle, I'm coming.

[Seeing and hearing her respond is so much of a relief that Castiel that he feels a little dizzy from it, and it takes a moment to calm. Everything is so jumbled still, and it feels both like he just saw her yesterday and somehow like it's been years. He's so glad she's still here.]

I'm not moving.

I'm sorry. I never meant to leave. I'm glad you are here.

[He's bloody and he looks as if someone's used him as a cutting board. Her heart is pounding in her chest and she feels as if she might pass out, but Daphne stills her nerves and immediately rushes out the door, forgetting her jacket in the process.]

[It takes a moment for Castiel to figure out why she doesn't want him to talk, despite his earlier request for help, and he looks down at himself briefly before returning his attention to the conversation.]

It looks worse than it is.

[He feels pretty terrible but he's truly not badly hurt. Certainly not enough so not to talk to his wife, who he's so happy to see.]

[Hi my name's Sam Winchester and I haven't slept since I came back from the dead and I sound exhausted as fuck how are you buddy.]

[There's a twisting feeling in Castiel's stomach at the sound of Sam's voice, because he suddenly remembers what Malachai told him about Ezekiel. With the return of his memories of this place, and what he knows of what happened to Sam in that other Asgard-]

Daphne is, but Sam, there is something of great import we must speak of.

[It's rushed, because this is incredibly serious.]

[That sounds exactly 0% like good news and Sam feels an odd weight in his chest.]
