[ so, Rachel's freaked out. really, really freaked out. the network is talking about a mirror universe and she's noticed it, of course she has. people getting sucked into reflective surfaces. it's hard not to notice that! and she's managed to avoid getting caught in the crossfire so far, but only because she's shut herself in her room and hasn't left since the fighting started to get really bad. which, honestly, she hates. she feels useless!

so...

here's this transmission. she sounds panicked and frustrated all at the same time, fun stuff. ]

I'm still pretty new to the city so this might sound like a dumb question, but is it status quo for giant ..giants to be running around fighting each other here? Does this kind of thing just happen? I get that the people-stealing mirrors is new, but is this what the war is like here? The one we're supposed to be fighting in. Because I can't say I'm a huge fan of hiding out in my room and waiting until it's all over instead of actually helping somehow, but this kind of came out of nowhere and I've had a total of zero hours of training with my abilities, so here I am. Can't we do something? Maybe? What are we supposed to be doing right now?

[He waves his trident around a little and gives her a small smile.]

Though if you aren't comfortable fighting this is a bad time to go outside. You'd be better staying where you are.

It ain't always like this. That's something. I've been here 'bout a month and this is the first time I've had to fight here.

I've only been here for about two months, and so far it's just been- a lot of fighting, actually.

Here? I have an ability called Drawing Life. It's pretty much exactly what it sounds like, only the level I'm at doesn't let me pull living things off the page yet.

No, it's not normal, but it does happen. And this was how I wound up dying the first time, so you just stay where you are and don't even think about trying to help. There's plenty of potential corpses out here without having to add yours to the pile.

Not to sound all rebellious and stupid, but I am literally hardwired to want to do something. You say potential corpses, I say people that need our help. What's the point of being here if I'm supposed to hide from every fight?

Rachel! Whoa, I didn't know you were here. [He pulls the bottle from the page and sets it aside to sketch rags.] Yeah this isn't normal. Usually the assaults don't end in giant vs giant slap fights. What's your house power?

As for 'normal', give or take. I've been here about six months now, and this is the second time they've been here- though to be fair, we sort of raided their city first.
