Day 363 (Morning); video
[Wesley’s face suddenly appears. He’s frustrated and tired despite a night of sleep (which was really just a night of tossing and turning). There are words and thoughts that need to be expressed but it’s hard to form all of that into something coherent especially when there’s a blond someone in his space.]
Spike. You’re suppose to be helping not rummaging through my cupboards.
Helping with what, exactly? [ the ex-vampire shot a look over his shoulder at the ex-ghost, one eyebrow climbing up into his hairline. ]
Explain...explain that place.
[As much as he doesn’t want to think about it, Wesley knows he should inform the people here about where the missing are and the troubles they were possibly facing]
If you’re not-- Fine, just don’t make a mess.
[He takes a moment to put whatever Spike was doing out of his head]
The people who have recently vanished are in fact in, well, possibly another dimension mirroring this one.
[ spike pokes his head out from the cupboard, a packet of tea in his hand marking him victorious. ] You lot ever see Wizard of Oz?
[Welp, the frowning is back]
Wizar- Are you- No, no, nevermind. I think I understand what he’s saying. The world we visited was grey and very hostile to those of us who had suddenly showed up. It also lacked a networking ability and people once again spoke their native language, which, for those not from modern Earth, made things even more difficult.
...Which doesn’t really matter now that we’re back, right? [ his gaze flicked to wes and then back to the feed, seemingly underwhelmed by the whole thing. ]
But others are still there and unless…
[His face heats up at the memory of the things he revealed to Fred]
Another thing is that we were under some compulsion to reveal things to people that we had kept private.
[Compulsion because like hell he had willingly told her the truth]
And our true natures were revealed.
Oh, right, that. You want milk in yours, Wes? [ spike was trying his best to stay casual, pouring himself a cup of tea and avoiding the other man’s bracelet as best he could. ]
[He nods but keeps frowning]
In truth I don’t know how we were brought back here; it’s all a bit blurry, but know that people are trapped in that place and it’s very likely they will stay there unless something drastic is done.
Or if they all die. [ he takes a sip of too-hot tea. ]
[Wesley just stares at the man. This is why Spike shouldn't be allowed to talk to people
[Wesley and Spike. Talk to one or both!]

Of course if that were possible I'd hope we could simply find our way back to our own worlds.

A...bubble dimension? Perhaps feeding off this one.
[Spells. There are hundreds even thousands jumbled up in his head, but none of it will help if he can't actually perform magic]
You wouldn't happen to have access to Rune majiks, would you?

Shame. There are those that could help, but seeing as they are also in Odin House I doubt He would gift them with their abilities.
And that's if they aren't trapped in the other dimension.
no subject
As I understand it, it's out of his hands. In the other dimension, they would have their powers.

[He's been so busy worrying over Fred that Wesley hasn't really researched this world the way he normally would.]
That's slightly disappointing.
I don't see how we can help those trapped from our side. And yes, at this point I do believe it to be some sort of trap.
no subject
[He sighs.] Yes, of course, it's a trap. Ridiculously elaborate and thus unstable trap, but there's little other use for it and it's certainly not a natural phenomenon.

[Only by a few hours. Lucky him]
I'm not unfamiliar with the games that The Powers That Be play, and I find this just as frustrating as usual. Really, I can't imagine what there is to gain except annoyance.

They're Giants. It's bad enough I have to call the ones on our side 'gods', must we refer to our enemies in such grand and dramatic terms? They're little more than squabbling children, their 'powers' not withstanding.
As for what they think they're gaining, I imagine its some from of intimidation. Which would perhaps be more effective if we, Traveller and native alike, were in anyway responsible for our presence here and could leave.
no subject
I haven't been here long enough to get the history of this place, but there could be those gods who aren't so pleased with our presence.

Wes here got off easier. He just had to spill a secret-- huh.

A secret? I don't understand.

[ this is starting to slot into place for spike now. ]

To whom? To you? To Thiazi?

Sorry, you remind me of a...colleague, but, um, yes I'm afraid my expertise is more of the mystical and without any real access to powers aside from those given to us I'm personally at a loss.
no subject
I know I share similarities with someone.
[ Well. The exact same thing. ]
It's most likely magic.
no subject
[He wouldn't saddle anyone with looking like Giles]
I was under the impression that magic did not work the same in this world as it did in my own.
[sighing]
Of course in my own world the Old Ones are dead... [Ouch. Wincing as he tries not to think of Illyria] It's possible that this is the work of one of our Patrons. Loki possibly, if his personality matches that which he is famous for in my world.

I never like to leave any possibility out especially when dealing with beings who believe themselves more important than mere humans.

[ But okay. ]
It is difficult to do anything about it when we do not know exactly what it is or how it's done.

Thinking isn't really my strong suit, you might've noticed.
