By now, I'm sure you've all heard about Professor Snape's school. I'd like to make some inquiries to determine the viability of a specific course.

Would any of our potential students be interested in a course on ancient Egyptian rites and rituals, one which featured a term-long mummification project? I imagine baby crocodiles might be the easiest option for mummification (I'm not sure I could stomach mummifying cats, and humans are, of course, right out), but the specific animal will depend on a number of factors.

Students for such a class would ideally be at least fifteen years old, though exceptions might be made for unusual cases. In addition to the matter of actually mummifying an animal, students should expect two hours of lecture and discussion per week and reading assignments throughout the term, as well as a final exam.

Hardly studying age anymore, myself, but I'll admit to curiosity on two points:

Are there crocodiles living in the city?

And these are the completely inanimate sort of mummy, I assume?

I'm not sure whether we'll have crocodiles available to us; it seems pointless to check before I know the interest level in the class. I'd simply prefer we stuck to an animal the ancient Egyptians would have mummified.

And yes, they're going to be thoroughly inanimate.

Egypt is a country along the Mediterranean, in Africa. If you're unfamiliar with it, I'm afraid you might want to start with an overview course instead.

"Know how to do" might be pushing it, as I've never tried before. But I've read enough on the subject to think I could; ancient Egypt is my area of study.
