[ it's been a few weeks since miss red text actually posted anything. partially because she's been preoccupied - the coming of the creatures, more people dying.. and her inability to do anything to help was more than a little frustrating. she hadn't been in any mood to converse, though she kept up her usual monitoring of things.

but hey, it might be good to say something. ]

every time it seems like we'll get a break, something happens. there was that festival .. and then the creatures. and people died. isn't it bad enough we're fighting a war on one front, rather than two?

i'd take thiazi over whatever those gentleman things were, any day.

has everyone recovered?

because given how things have been going lately, we ought to be on our guard.

People have hinted at establishing some kind of organized, citizens' defense. Have you followed that at all?

'Be on our guard'? And do what, exactly? I don't know if this has occurred to you, maybe you're new, maybe you just haven't become familiar with your surroundings, I don't know, but we happen to be stuck in a city built by what, by my understanding, are GODS.

Now, in case you're not familiar with what being a god entails, I thought I might define the word for you:

God noun.

A spirit or being that has great power, strength, knowledge, etc., and that can affect nature and the lives of people : one of various spirits or beings worshipped in some religions¹

So essentially, we're up against people with more power, more strength, more knowledge, and more et cetera than the rest of us. Which isn't too much of an imposition really, provided we stop doing stupid things like SPYING on them² without being fully prepared to take them on, and went about our merry way without trying to rock the boat, you know? So unless you happen to have any friends who, you know, happen to be gods, I can't really see the beneficial part of your proposition.

No offense intended, really, but why does everyone keep insinuating we should stage a rebellion, fight back, raise up in arms against, oppose, et cetera said gods and otherworldly figures? We're practically peons by comparison. If anything, we should be burning meat and dancing around in a circle singing songs to try and appease them.

I'm afraid I missed the... gentleman things, though by all accounts that makes me one of the lucky few. Being on our guard is never bad advice, especially since some catastrophe seems to happen roughly every two weeks or less.

As much as we can, I suppose. And I'll have to agree on both points--those "gentlemen" weren't particularly gentle at all.

I've also heard talk about organizing an actual defense system, or even just one for evacuating those who can't fight. You might be interested in that.
