[Good morning, Asgard. There's a cheerful warlock wearing a dopey sort of grin on your bracelet screen.]

Since Arthur's already had his time to talk about the Citadel, I guess it's my turn. After what happened with the Gentlemen attacking, and the SOS message a couple days ago, it's not a bad time to remind everyone that the Medic Corps are still around. If you want to help with the war effort but aren't a fighter yourself, we could always use more healers willing to go onto the field and help the wounded. The hospital's a good place to work if being a physician is something you'd like to do, too.

I've just finished packing some more of the medicine kits. [He holds his own kit up to the screen as an example.] If you want one, or if you need to restock yours, just go to the hospital and ask for Merlin.

Right--speaking of the hospital. I've been talking to Jack, and we're going to be redecorating the hospital. Most of the walls and rooms are white, it's hard to believe any patient would recover while looking at something so painfully bare. We could use the help brightening the place up. Paint, portraits, trinkets--anything you've got that you that you want to contribute, I'm sure we'll find some place to put it. Or Jack's little ducklings will if we older folks can't. [Merlin grins, picturing the Guardian surrounded by the native and traveler children.]

Send all of that over to the hospital if you want, or [the half teasing, half sly expression on his face indicates the second option is the better one] you can come and help us decorate in a few days. There's enough of you good at creating and the like that it shouldn't be a problem, right?

[Was that a challenge you just heard? Nah, probably your imagination. Merlin beams, practically radiating cheer and innocence.] Great, so I'll see you all there!

Not too bad. We got some volunteers last time, but we always need more for a full scale war.

Ah, right. [He looks sheepish.] I'd planned on having the meeting a little while ago, but it slipped my mind when the Gentlemen attacked. And Arthur was with your group, visiting the camp outside the city, and I sort of need him around...

[Merlin seems to realise how that sounds, and hastily tacks on an explanation.] Er. For the meeting. I meant, I need him around for the meeting.

[Okay, see, people warned him about Severus, and Harry, and Hermione, but no one told him Merlin was here. Remus stares at the entry for a few seconds, horribly uncertain-- and then goes back, checking the other entries-- and oh my god, it's Merlin.

So he totally can't do video. He can't. But-- but it's rude, isn't it, to change formats? Probably. So Remus appears, yes, but he looks super nervous.]

What, er, what, what kind of decorations were you looking for?

[The nerves Merlin notices, though he doesn't think too much of it. New to the city, perhaps?]

Anything that's showing some colour. Back in Camelot, we'd hang baubles up or even just place some fresh flowers around the rooms.

Oh, but. [He frowns.] I guess the flowers wouldn't last long. [And it's not like they can use magic to keep them from wilting here.]

A hospital is the place where the healers work. It's the best place to go when you or someone you know is injured.

I have a question. Do the Medic Corps take people who have first aid experience, but may not have magical or herbal healing abilities? I can dress a wound, manage stitches, assess for triage, and I'm competent on the field. I might work well paired with someone who uses a more mystical approach.

[If only for making sure that they don't burn themselves out on the little things, or that no one descends on them and takes them out when they're bent over a body.]

Are you a physician? We could use more people who know how to treat injuries without magic. I've learned some techniques from my mentor back in Camelot, but what we used is...older compared to what people from the future use. A lot of us have only started learning after they got here.

Hello. [It is the 'hello' of a man trying to be really cool because, even though he'd contacted Arthur a couple of days ago on the network about self defense training, it's not like he'd ever gotten to meet any of his childhood heroes and Merlin was a lot lower in the realms of possibility than others.]

I'm not a doctor. Or particularly good at decorating, for that matter. But I am a scientist - biologist, in fact, specifically geneticist - so if there's any sort of lab work to be done - [he jerks a thumb in order to point at himself.] ...I can do that. Um. Since I'm not sure how many doctors or healers there are here and I figured it would be better to say something than nothing at all. Oh - and better suited for indoor work. Mobility issues.

Lab work? [Merlin's oddly quiet.] Actually, maybe there is something you could do. A friend of mine was having a look at a healing nectar we harvested from local flowers a while ago. He's--he's gone now, I think everyone who worked with him is, but his old lab should still be there.

[Charles' other comment keeps him from sinking too far into nostalgia.] What issues?

Is it possible to recieve training to join the medical corps? I unfortunately have no true skill on the battlefield, but I am no healer either. But I am willing to learn anything that can help during the next attack.

Oh, and by the way, are you a friend of Lady Alice?

Of course. We have a few experienced physicians amongst us who would probably be willing to teach you. I've learnt a few things myself that I can show you.

Er, yeah. I am. Though, I think much of the city is her friend at this point.
