[The video feed sits at an awkward angle when it starts up and focuses, catching Desmond's chest and the bottom half of his face, pallid and blue-lipped as if just in from time spent in a deep freeze. The scar on his mouth is split and oozing again when he talks urgently, shivering, an ugly red stain that's dripped down into his collar, marring the once-clean white of his robes. ]

W-We need help- Thia-Thi- [ It's difficult to speak, his tongue feels heavy and uncooperative, his voice hoarse from screams that had gone unheeded. He sways in the saddle, his vision swimming in a sea of darting red and black shapes, forcing himself to find words as he grits his reddened teeth. ]

Thiazi, she...she let us g-go we're...I think...Utgard, on the road back I-I-

[ We have to make it, have to-

There's a distinct 'whump!' off-camera, and he looks over to his right sharply, crying out painfully, anguished, ]

Shit, no!

[ The feed suddenly shakes with his movement, but things go pear-shaped when the video abruptly spin head over heels, cartwheeling a dizzying view of sky, road and horse, and the camera cuts out with another, closer thump. ]

Okay so a few things! Altaïr, Connor, Desmond and Ezio are back from getting their asses handed to them by Thiazi. There will be a subthread for their rescuers and 4-6 character limit on those who'd like riding to their aid, just to keep things manageable. Since that's capped, if your character would still like to come by in person to tell them just how incredibly stupid they were trying to sneak around Thiazi, there's also another subthread herein for them while they recover in hospital. \o/ Whew!

There will be a delay in IC bracelet replies because the boys need some game time to heal. Rest assured they'll get to all of them when they're reasonably able! ))

ACTION OPTION 1; RESCUERS

[Those who show up to help will find four men looking absolutely wrecked, either on the ground due to no longer being able to stay in the saddle, or leaning heavily upon their mounts. Some hastily-treated wounds are present, but not all the pain comes from obvious injuries.]

[Well Alastair doesn't have to be asked twice. He's immediately on his way to find them, riding one of the Brotherhood's horses and given an extra boost of energy for his healing by Caterina.

He's going to help. However he can.

And he's trying not to think about how close to losing his family he was. Again.]

[ Okay, one thing's for sure; they're idiots. Great, big, raring idiots. Which they're probably bound to hear quite a lot about for a while. The Doctor doesn't even need to know what exactly they did to know that.

Doesn't mean he'll leave them to die.

So, because it's obvious there's a hurry, he runs to get there in time. And when he gets there, he throws a look around to try and decide who needs help quickest. ]

[It took time for Soushi to prepare the rescue team as best as he could on short notice, but he was able to manage it. His years of training as an SS was finally beginning to pay off. That is why there will be a flare being shot in the air once he caught sight of the group of injured man, so they knew the cavalry had finally arrived.

He will bring the wagon over to the group, parking the horses, then he will get out of the wagon and bring out the simple stretcher out of the wagon.]

We've finally arrived. Who should we carry onto the wagon first?

[Compared to his Brothers, Connor is actually doing relatively okay: not only is he still on his horse, he's also still (mostly, kind of) upright. Who would have thought seven months of learning to manage near-constant and occasionally intense pain would prove useful preparation for being tortured by a witch-queen?

Not him, that's for sure.

While he's succeeded in getting something of a handle on the pain, he's having considerable trouble figuring out what to do. The other Assassins are down, all three off their horses. He knows if he dismounts himself, there's a good chance he won't be able to get back on. He also knows that he currently lacks the strength to hoist any of them back onto their mounts. Perhaps he could manage to lie each of the horses down one at a time, that their riders might climb or be dragged back onto them, but then there's no way to keep them on for the trip back. He has no rope with which to tie them to their saddles and the last thing Desmond or Ezio needs is to suffer another fall.

He could go and search for help, but that would leave them utterly defenseless. What if Thiazi changes her mind and shows up to finish them off? There may be little he can do in that case, especially in his present condition and with all of his weapons stolen from him, but he should be here to try to protect them... shouldn't he?

In his indecision, he ends up staying with the three fallen Assassins, keeping vigil over them from horseback.

Thanks to Desmond's efforts with the bracelet, help eventually arrives without his having to retrieve it. Connor drags weakly on one rein until his big horse relents and moves away to give them space.

He'll be down the road a bit, staring back in the direction of Utgard if anyone needs him.]

ACTION OPTION 2; HOSPITAL

[Friends, loved ones and ambulance-chasers will be able to find four very unhappy—but somewhat healthier—men at the hospital in Sigyn. Magical healing abilities are all well and good but it doesn't hurt to get checked out and rest.]

[Pyro doesn't know most of them, but he trains casually with Altair, and he'll always appreciate how sensible he was about killing that spy (even if the act itself was a bit chilling in its execution.) [Claudia is one of the first to arrive after the healers themselves, and she gives them just enough room to work without being overbearing. An Auditore does not sit by while her loved ones are hurting. When she's given leave to finally approach, it's Ezio she's goes to first - of course - but then to the others to see if she can do anything to help them. As deep as her frown is, her eyes hold nothing but concern and even fear for them, especially after they mentioned Thiazi.

Anyone visiting them will see Claudia in and out rather often, always coming to their sides and is more than willing to chat or keep watch while others see to their friends.]

[Maria looks a mess; grim faced and pale beneath the flush of exertion that comes from running from the stables where she had been going about her business until the sight of Desmond ruined and covered in blood had appeared on the bracelet and she had felt the blood that ran through her veins turn cold.

For a split second, before he had spoken, she had thought that the bloody and battered face was her husband's. When it turned out to be Desmond, it hadn't made her feel any better or eased the sick feeling in the pit of her stomach.

So when she makes it to Sigyn to the hospital, she's by no means at ease with the situation as she takes in the sight of them.]

Her eyes narrow a little and she shakes her head. She wasn't particularly close to any of them, but she had talked to most at some point or another. Still, that doesn't mean she won't let them see her scowls if need be.]

[ Connor broke off from the healer wagon when they re-entered the city, since he left in a blind panic earlier and didn't tell anyone where he was going. But awhile later he shows up at the hospital, wandering around looking for the failsassins. He wants to know what went on in Utgard.

It won't be easy to make him leave without answers. ]

A wagon is on its way. Leonardo-san has requested me to find you and the others. We will be there shortly with supplies.

We are in need of a doctor or healer of any level. One or two more warriors or anyone with advanced fighting abilities that do not require their powers. If you are able to accompany us on this journey, then meet us by the gate's entrance in five minutes. Thank you for your time.

[ Connor was in motion seconds after seeing the SOS, hastily grabbing their first aid kit and some blankets, barely remembering to close the apartment door behind him. He left the message playing, and Soushi's follows... five minutes... he could make it if he pushed. He didn't grab a weapon, but Connor had never really needed a weapon to be deadly. He recognized those white robes. If they had to fight, he'd make do; those men were coming back to Asgard if he had to kill frost giants with his bare hands. ]
