Okay, first of all! Everyone who is new, hi! My name is Jade, and welcome to Asgard, and make sure to let someone know if you need something! I can be helpful - I've been here practically forever now.

Secondly, I am going to need everyone to stop dying, thank you very much.

Thirdly - and this one kind of goes back to the second point, here - if you don't know how to use a weapon, you need to learn how to use a weapon. [ The frown on her face grows a little more severe. ] We are at war, and we can't always rely on our powers! Because some of them kind of suck - no offense, Harry - and when we're attacked, they're not gonna care if you're able to make a giant fireball or if you can just float half a foot off the ground.

[ Her expression is very decidedly stubborn. ]

I can teach you how to shoot a gun. I want to teach you how to shoot a gun! If you can't fight? Please let me teach you how to shoot a gun so you don't die, okay? Between here and home I've died like four times [ five, she's just unaware of that last one right now ] and I am getting sort of sick of it. Let me help!

Or at least let someone.

[ Jade leans forward, as if to end the video, before she wrinkles her nose and adds - ]

Also there's no pie at the Highwind today because my baker is being a butthead. Sorry Stiles. Take it up with Ryan!

You know, from the way you called him out, I feel sort of sorry for whoever this Harry is. And whoever your butthead of a baker might be.

[No, in actuality she is very disappointed in that baker, whoever they are. They should be doing their job.]

I do know how to use a weapon, but I don't have one at the moment. After all that I've seen, though, I am strongly considering getting one.

I prefer chains, knifes, sickles and my claws, Jade, but thanks for the offer. I fight dirty.

... but on that note, seriously. Not enough people buy poisons and egg bombs these days. Remind the folks, especially those second tiers that they can use the vouchers or pick up potions from Euri's shop or mine. Like you said, we're at war, and every edge helps.

Can you use a weapon?

[ It's a curse, Jane -- it's not entirely Ryan's fault! But Jade is huffy instead of mopey these days, and it's a marked improvement. ]

What kind of weapon can you use?

I am getting really tired of having our collective butts get kicked! It's kind of exhausting! I mean, what if the gods can't bring us back someday? "Oops, I'm dead because I didn't want to murder someone who was trying to murder me first"?? Nope, not good enough.

How did you think my staff broke that one time?

[But just in case that isn't enough for Jade (he did piss her off on the Striders' post after all), he waves a hand and five marbles, a little bigger than a tennis ball, appear floating around him. They look hard as hell and not something you want thrown at your face.]

What about relying on my powers to use a weapon?

Well, the staff is alright, I guess... but you'd better have another backup in case our powers don't work or something. The next fight might take place in another city or something!

You will literally never have that issue with me. I've never had that good of a survival sense because of what used to happen back home, but I'm not the sort to go quietly into that sweet night. [She made a hmph sound.] We should make sure the newbies remember to ask for shrine blessings. Good weapons, or that protective barrier... They need all the help they can get, and it's not like the gods are complete morons.

People just don't ask.

Ryan's being a butthead?

[She's actually been thinking about this for a day or so--she doesn't really have much going for her here, not like in Oz, and though she doesn't like the idea, she knows she'll have to learn. The Gentlemen have served to hammer that fact home, at least.]

I changed my staff, the new one won't break. If it does then the gods need to revise their blessing system. I've been fighting with one of those for three hundred years, Jade.

[He doesn't feel like being lectured now. He commented on her post for one reason only! (ok, maybe two, he does like talking to her after all)]

[ She gives a long, long-suffering sigh, before squinting at him. ]

But it's freeeeezing outside. Sure. C'mon over.

[ Jade puffs her cheeks out, shrugging once. ]

Well... then we just have to help remind people to ask! That is important. We're the ones who've been here a while, right? That makes it sort of our responsibility.

Yes! He's a boy. I think it just happens sometimes.

[ Oh, good - she likes it when people take her up on things! Feeling useful is a Big Thing to her. ]

You talk so much. Did you know? [Hi Jade. Your butthead of a boyfriend is currently in a tree and debating how to approach the subjects at hand.]

Why is it so surprising that someone gave me a gun?

She makes an exasperated sound. ]

Done. And I might look around and see if anyone's willing to train people in dirty fighting. It's not exactly like Arthur's group's style, but we should help people train, and some folks are better at that type.

[So being the baker at the Highwind is cursed? Hmmmmmmmm.]

Spoons and forks. And tridents, recently. It's a lot handier than it sounds, I assure you.

[ And Jade has to swallow a giggle at that. ]

I notice how you're missing answering the most important part of this conversation, Jade. What'd you do to Ryan? Where's my pie man?

And it's surprising because... you're you. You're not a gun toter. I've seen gun toters. You are not one of them.
