Well, it seems I've missed a few things! [ Charley is in her room in Hel's welcome hall, brushing her hair back and out of her face, smiling dryly at the camera. ] I hope nothing too horrid has happened to any of you while I've been gone.

If the Doctor - all of you, please - could get in touch with me, I would be most appreciative. [ She reaches up, like she's going to fiddle with a pendant that she's not actually wearing, then drops her hand to her lap. ] Please.

Um. [ Well, now that's a story. ] In the end, yeah. Everyone got a bit messy, but we were all fine in the end.

[ tiny sigh of relief ]

That's something, at least. And... my Doctor... he's still here? [ please oh please oh please oh please... ]

[ Oh good, something she actually doesn't have to worry about answering. ]

Yeah, he is! An' I'm sure he'll be more than happy t'see you again. He um. He definitely missed you.

[ "Oh thank god" her expression says ]

I'm just waiting on the edge of my seat waiting for him to get in touch with me. I don't remember being gone, but... knowing I was, I worry about him.

Sounds a bit like what happened t'me. I ended up going home a bit ago. Was only home for maybe half a second- no memory of bein' here. Come back, and two weeks have gone by.

But he's fine. Here an' healthy, I promise.

Have you any idea how long I've been gone? It seems like it must have been longer than two weeks.

Um... [ She breathes, trying to remember when last the woman had actually been here. In honesty, she'd .. sort of forgotten. Other things to think about, you know. ]

Probably a good few weeks, at least. It's a bit out of sorts with me havin' left, also.

I can imagine. [ she lets out a long breath ] Oh! Yours, the Ninth one, is he all right? I was keeping an eye out for him after you disappeared, but then I vanished as well, and I'd feel just awful if anything happened to him.

Oh- you. Vanished after I did? [ Wait, had she known that? ... Hm. Maybe not. ]

He's still here- just fine, too. He wasn't around for the big um. Mess. He'd gone off to Vanaheim with the TARDIS an' some of them when it happened. He and the Tenth-- He's here too now. My-- My other Doctor.

Oh, good. I'm glad to hear it. On both counts, really, you must be glad to have them both here.

[pause]

That sounds awful, given this place, but you know what I mean.

[ She chuckles, clearly amused and clearly understanding. ]

No, you're right... I'm. It's really nice, havin' them here. The Ninth one-- He's gone and regenerated in my time, back home. I won't be seeing him again, less it's here. So it's. It's nice.

It's horribly selfish of me, I know it wasn't easy for him with me gone, but I'm glad I was gone before mine regenerated... I don't know that I'd handle it well, even knowing it's a possibility.

A bit.

[ Selfish, she means. But her tone is strange; whether she's actually irritated or is simply agreeing is anyone's guess. ]

S'not so bad. I was more confused at first; bloody twit didn't explain a thing to me until after the fact. And he'd gone and passed out for a day, in the middle of a crisis. Bit hard to function with nothin' to go on.

What? He never told you? [ Charley's a bit aghast, honestly ] That must have been rather terrifying at first, a whole new face and no explanation for it? I can't imagine!

Well it was-- Sort of. He was a bit out of sorts when it happened. An' afterwards. He'd just had the Vortex runnin' through him so ... might've done a number on his head for a bit. Actually that explains a lot, now that I think about it.

[ She's joking. Mostly. ]
