They are a who, they are a what.

They're called Titans. They're giants who eat humans, but have no reason to eat us as they don't need to eat. They nearly wiped out humanity 100 years ago, and the only reason we haven't died out is because we built three walls to protect us. And now they can get through the walls, too.

Not so far, but if he ever shows up I'll be sure to ask about it. This place is a little small for cars, though, so we might wind up with flying motorcycles instead.
