001 / Day 341 / Video & Action
[Video]
[The video begins with a close up of Giselle's face, grinning with delight.]
There are minstrels in the city!
[The image in the video quickly pans around to show a group of three minstrels, all strumming lutes, who all appear to be focused on serenading her. The image moves once again, panning back to Giselle, who is still grinning.]
Isn't this wonderful?!
[At this point the video basically dissolves into chaos, as Giselle forgets to turn it off before joining the minstrels in their song.]
[Action]
[It starts with a group of three minstrels. Giselle loves singing, and she can't help but join in when they get near. And who can sing along with a group and not feel compelled to dance a little too?]
[Before long she's in full-on Disney mode, singing and dancing all over the streets of Asgard with her trusty minstrel back-up chorus.Feel free to imagine some lyrics about beautiful days and good moods, because the mun is certainly no lyricist. Her mood and the song are infectious. At various points there are citizens of every stripe joining in.]
[Feel free to run into her at any point in this musical number. She will be singing to people, dancing around them, and doing other equally ridiculously Disney-ish sorts of things like throwing flower garlands around the necks of stoic menfolkJames.]

[Giselle may not know Petra, but she spots her moving toward the side of the road and immediately veers off in her direction, still singing the whole while. If possible, she's going to try to grab Petra's hands and swing her into the thick of the dancing.]

He just... he just came out to shop, he hadn't come out to be assaulted by bards, okay. Bards and little groups of beggar children, apparently- he sighs and fends the latter off with a coin apiece while he attempts to get Giselle's attention mid-verse. ]
Yes that's very-
Miss Giselle-
Is this- is this really necessary?
[ James debates signaling with flags, as if she were a sister ship at sea, but it might only encourage... whatever this is. ]
Action
[...just wait until Giselle pads back over to you and leaps into your arms as the music swells!]
[Well, technically she's going to throw her arms around your neck and kind of swing around you, but if you would like to put your arms around her that would be a totally natural thing to do. Ahem.]
[Still grinning:]
What's the matter, Commodore?
[Action] Someone say Disney Singing Mode?
Aw yiss
I'm so glad you came out! Isn't this fun?

How does everyone know this song? Is it a traditional thing? He's never seen anyone in Asgard do anything like this before...]
Uh... what's... going on?

We're singing, silly! I found these lovely minstrels--well, I suppose they found me, actually! And it was too beautiful of a day not to sing along.

Action!
Well Maria has absolutely no words for this preposterous turn of events as she watches the girl appear to have far too much fun with a bunch of minstrels. She herself has a headache as she was serenaded four times before lunch about the luminous quality of her eyes (she thinks, the minstrel seemed to be singing in rather broken English with a heavy Italian accent) and she's on the verge of punching them in the face.
Doesn't the girl understand that this sort of behaviour only encourages them?
Yup. Definitely a headache.]
Oh give me strength...

[And then Giselle's gaze comes to Maria, and something tells her that this one's going to take a little more work than the rest.]
[Opting for simple and friendly, Giselle gives the woman a smile and tones the dancing down to an easy sway, in time with the music.]
Would you like to dance?
[action]
So now Elphaba is stalking around town with the metaphorical rain cloud hanging over head, occasionally fending off minstrels with her broom or punching them in the face. Don't worry, the last one's reserved for especially annoying ones, though that number is increasing by the hour.
Really, the last thing she needs is some kind of street show.
And that is exactly what she gets, when she sees Giselle and some kind of parade trailing behind her, singing and dancing to some strange tune about how it's such a beautiful day, come join them in their quest to annoy the saner residents of Asgard into yelling at them (that last part is actually just a substitution in her head, but it's completely accurate).
Dear Giselle: congratulations. You have officially shocked Elphaba Thropp, of all people, into not being able to speak.]

[Her eyes wide and shining at the sight of a friend (because really, anyone who's ever been not cruel to her is a friend, right?), Giselle breaks formation and skips over to Elphaba. Yes, skips.]
[And no, she never quite stops moving. Even when she reaches Elphie she continues to sway to the beat of the music.]
It's so nice to see you again!

Even if she's shy and her dances have a different source, she won't have the heart to deny them if they ask her to join in. ]

[Giselle and a group of other assorted women are in the middle of some rather fancy footwork, while the minstrels are merrily strumming away, when she spots Ninian. Not knowing someone has never stopped her before (and especially not when she's in such a good mood, and singing). Barely breaking from the neat little steps they've all somehow choreographed between them, Giselle leans over and attempts to hook an arm through Ninian's, sucking her into the group of dancers.]

[For a moment she even forgets to bop, that's how shocked she is.]
[Finally:]
Well... I'm sorry you feel that way. I suppose it isn't very considerate of them to keep you awake at night.

Aw, thank you! That's very kind of you to say. Did you want to join us?

[Noting the grin, Giselle will dance her way up to him and attempt to grab his hands. She could use a partner for a bit of spinning that's going to happen right...now.]
Hello!

And then there's a garland of flowers being tossed around his neck and Alex physically jerks back like he's afraid of it or something. Everyone is crazy here. That's just what he's decided. Everyone's crazy. ]
This supposed to be a parade or something?
action;
It's a song! The minstrels started singing and it seems like everyone else wanted to sing along too! Isn't it lovely?
