[Selina is out practicing with her whip. And it's every bit as noisy as you'd think, because she's doing a hell of a lot of marksman training. She has a picture--the picture given to her here--of her and Bruce Wayne propped up beside the leaves and bits of garbage she's found and subsequently shredded with her whip. The picture is untouched. Every time she goes to cut it in half, she changes her mind.]

[So she finally makes a post when she's sweating and out of breath, because it's been a long time coming anyway.]

All right, here's what I need: a sewing kit, some fabric, and my own place as soon as possible. I don't share well.... But if you happen to be my roommate, feel free to speak up and make yourself known.

And are there any animals around here? Mice and birds are a plus.

[Nike isn't the social type, at least not when she isn't forced to be. She's been keen on hiding out while trying to figure out exactly what to do with herself here--

But that's not to say she isn't curious. Especially after hearing the crack of that whip.

She watches quietly from a distance for a while, eyes studying the movement. She admired someone who was good at their craft. Eventually she'll even speak up]

How long it take y't'get good at that?

[She turns her head toward Nike, keeping a wary eye on her, even though she smiles and twirls the tail of her whip.]

A few years. I probably could have been more devoted, but I hadn't learned what motivation was yet....

You don't seem like the typical soldier a Norse god would go for.

[She knows the look, at least on the surface level. She's a skinny teen wearing an over-sized sweatshirt. She doesn't look like much of a fighter.]

Same could be said for most anyone here. [She's not laying down any of her cards yet.] But I really can't account for th'gods' tastes.

[All said with a heavy dose of sarcasm and a careles shrug.]

Maybe they're just lookin' for someone with th'biggest volume of hair.

[Henry's looking curiously at the screen, and there's- quite a bit of cawing in the background. A crow hops onto his shoulder to join him in the peering.]

[She eats birds, for one thing, but seeing the crow...well, she learned from Penguin not to go snapping up other people's pets.]

Who's that?

[She might mean both you and the bird, Henry.]

Just a crow. They like hanging around me for some reason. Too bad you weren't here a month ago, I coulda given you more mice than you could carry.

[He wouldn't actually mind if she ate it; animals always ate each other.]

[that...is a slightly worrying response, but Owen doesn't let that show-instead, he simply furrows his brow.]

Most people aren't attached to small animals in parks. Though, I don't know if Asgard even has squirrels.

Finally he gathers his brain out from where it was trying to slip into his other head and addressed her back.]

Um, hi. Uh, you can maybe get the sewing kit and stuff from the market, but you're going to need money for that. You're boned on the own place thing unless, again, you got the funds for a move out. I'm not really a fan of the whole dorm life either, but options are kind of limited here.

And I'm wondering what you need the mice and birds for? I mean, there's a pet store, but... uh, yeah.

[It's not that she's unaware of the way he's looking at her--she gets it frequently, she's in skintight vinyl and that's a deliberate fashion choice. But he's young, so she doesn't feel the need to bait him and shred him the way she does with most men.

Instead she smiles ruefully, and shrugs a shoulder.] A girl can dream.

But what to do for money when we're all conscripted soldiers?

[As for the birds and mice, well, he's being helpful so she'll just not explain that yet.]

Well, um, most of us find places to work here. Some open businesses. They'll give you loans if you have a decent idea, and since my best friend opened his own pet shop and he's seventeen? Age isn't really a factor. Not that, um, that's anything you have to worry about.

[She has to wonder what kind of god kidnaps a child to fight a war, but then she realizes this isn't a typical war and gods are all kind of bastards.]

Oh, I have sewing things! I could lend you some if you wanted. A friend of mine left lots of fabric behind too when she was sent home and it doesn't look like she's coming back any time soon, so you can have some of them if you want.

There are purrlenty of squeakbeasts and featherbeasts around as well!

There are a quite a few of those animal around. Sometimes a few interesting animals come through the city and some of them stay around.

[Though it is normally a sign that some sort of mess is going down.]

I have a cat, a yak, and a lion personally, Miss.

A lion. How did you wrangle one of those?

[As far as she can recall, lions weren't a common feature for the Vikings. The gods really must be globally integrated these days.]

Of course there's animals. Try going outside. As for the living situation, you're gonna have to find work before you can get your own place.

I am outside, right in the thick of it...all I see are people, as far as the eye can see. [And from the sounds of it she's not impressed.]
