[He had heavily debated on if he wanted to turn on the video feed, all things considered. His head was still pretty foggy and he was struggling to grasp the fact that he had disappeared for ten full days.

No, correction. He'd blown himself up on camera and then disappeared for ten full days. Urgh. How embarrassing.

He first took the time to sift through the messages left on his bracelet, baffled by the sheer amount of information (and slightly amused/unsettled. Davesprite what is wrong with you.) Then he realized there were several responses to his original message before the disaster struck.

…he was fucked, wasn't he? Alas, he knew he couldn't keep hiding so the best method was to be as nonchalant as possible. That meant showing his face whether he wanted to or not.

When the feed flickers on anyone watching will see a boy who looks sort of like he was hit by the Knight Bus. His hair's messy, there are bags under his eyes and there's the slightest hint of a five o'clock shadow on his chin.]

…hey. [Yes, Draco. After all this time, the most you can do is say hey.] Three things.

First of all, how many of you from that large influx of people are still here?

Two, what's the state of my apothecary?

And three, I'm in desperate need of an aspirin.

…oh, and four. If the gods would just allow for a little more freedom in alchemy…[He'll just grumble to himself.] I'm not done tweaking that formula, so I don't want to hear it. We're pretending nothing happened, understand? Just so we're clear.

They finally caught me. [That's right, Draco. Play it off.]

I'm at the park. Jade told me to stay here, so I am.

Can....I come and see you? Oh, but maybe you want some time with Jade first?

[Jade, after all, is his girlfriend. So of course he might want to see her first and foremost before others come see him in person.]

Jade's coming for me. [He's not sure when that is though, or if he'll want to separate from her when she eventually gets to him.] But she's not here yet.

I see. Well, in that case you can just let me know when and where and I can come and see you after? I just--want to make sure you're okay after everything.

[Because she will probably never forget seeing him die over the feeds from the bracelets like that. Just wants to see him in person. To hug him or smack him she is still not entirely sure, if not both.]

I should be in the shop later today if you'd like. I have to survey the damage, after all.

Okay. I can meet you there later then. I think most of the mess was cleaned up though. But I want to come see you, and help if I can.

Sounds like a solid plan. If Euri was around she would have cleaned up by now I imagine. I meant the damage to my notes more than anything else though.

Oh. Right. Hopefully they aren't damaged from it. Would it be difficult to write it all out again if something did happen to your notes?

Might be since I was sort of writing as I go.

I hope not. I guess we'll see though.

Oh, and I don't think Jade is too happy about the whole dying and going grey thing so. Yeah.

I'll tell you a secret. Jade's usually not happy with me for something. [But his tone's fond.] Thanks for the warning though.

Give me a few hours and I'll meet you at the shop? I have to see how Euri's holding up, too.

Ah. I suppose this time is no different then, given the circumstances, no?

Alright then. I'll see you in a few hours at the shop. You take your time, Draco. I'm sure I'm not the only one wanting to see you again.

Exactly. She'll yell at me, I'll probably yell back, and then we'll move on.

Don't worry about it. If I'm late, just call me back.

If you say so. I'll call if you keep me waiting then.

I'll hold you to it. See you soon, Rapunzel. [And he disconnects because as promised, he'll be at the shop a few hours later. After Jade-time and all.]

[And Rapunzel is there, Pascal in her hands as she sits at the workshop, chatting to him. Apparently not yet noticing Draco enter.]

I know, but it isn't like any of that was his fault. I mean, kind of, but it wasn't like he did it on purpose, Pascal.

Of course part of me is a little angry, but I guess I'm just relieved he's okay now. I just wish--that I'd been there. If I could still heal.... [The chameleon chirps a little at that, nuzzling into her palms before climbing up her arms and to her shoulder, giving a start when he sees Draco.]

[He hangs back in the doorway for a few moments, just watching the pair of them and listening in. He can't help but wince a tiny bit. Ah, right. So maybe people were a little more affected than he thought.

He clears his throat as he steps into the shop, stopping a short distance away. He's showered by now at least but he still looks a little tattered and worn down. But he's on time as promised and he lifts a bandaged hand in a wave.]

Waiting long?

[At the sound of his voice and Pascal's starting, Rapunzel is a little wide eyed, turning to see him. Staring a little, taking in the little details showing what he'd been through. Even a shower couldn't hide that he still looks pretty tired and hurt in spite of being brought back. Her lips purse a little as she stands, approaching him.]

No. I'm just--I'm glad you're back.

[She says, arms outstretched for a hug.]

I think everyone's glad I'm back. [He's a little uncertain about the hugging that seems to be happening around people lately, but that's partially because he's still about 40% convinced he'll explode on impact. So instead he lets her approach, lifting a hand to rest on her shoulder.]

Hi. Everything been well?

[Shut up and stop being so antsy Draco. She'll look to him for a brief second when he places a hand at her shoulder before moving to wrap her arms around him. Because as much as she also wants this, she gets the feeling Draco needs it just as much. Almost like it would confirm that he was back, her first hand experience with death not being permanent. Seeing it happen is different than merely hearing about it from others, after all.]

What do you think? After seeing that on the network. You--you idiot.

[She's not quite crying, still a mixture of relieved and frustrated with him right now. The relief wins out though, her head bowing as Pascal shoots Draco a look from her shoulder.]

[Draco's always antsy, Rapunzel. Sorry about that. He doesn't really mind when she hugs him, though he's a little stiff as he thinks it over.

Rapunzel and affection were a dangerous combination sometimes...but this was an exception, right? He'll tentatively let his arms move to hug her back, but he's still pretty awkward.]

...sorry. I didn't think it was going to be that effective. [But he blinks at Pascal, staring back at him for a moment.]

[She either doesn't seem to notice his initial apprehension about returning the hug or merely just decides not to comment on it, relaxing into it as he returns the hug. Pascal pokes his tongue out at Draco, clearly not happy at his dying and upsetting his friend like this, not quite as forgiving.]

Just....be careful next time, okay? I know I wasn't the only one worried and upset.

There wasn't even supposed to be a "this time"...I'm not careless.

[Rapunzel sighs, briefly lowering her gaze before pulling back slightly and running a hand through her hair out of habit.]

I know. But that still doesn't mean it didn't happen, Draco. I know death isn't permanent here, but that still doesn't mean we should just treat it casually. I'm just trying to tell you I don't want a repeat of this, okay?

You and a handful of the city. I can't guarantee it won't happen again...but I'll do my best, all right? I still have to perfect the actual formula.
