[It's a day after the explosion of Spring and superpower exhibition, and Pyro's just sitting in -

Anyhow, those who were there to hear him rant and rave about Freya being spared and Freyr being saved might think he's appeared to shit all over that party, but he's staying quiet on that front for now. (Who knows how many psycho kids one of them might have, after all.)]

Since we're so big on Democracy here, thought I'd put something up to a vote.

Instead of random surges in our powers that have nothing to do with anything, how about the gods put their heads together and see if they can gather up enough strength to make the powers work outside the city? Y'know, where most people are actually being attacked and either dying or coming close to it?

It's just a thought.

Not so much the benefit of the doubt. Have you noticed they always defer to us, even when they don't want to. If they're gods why should they bother with letting us decide the outcome of things?

They already keep so much from us but when it came to the spy. It was as if they were chained down and we were their jailers. They could not act outside of specific boundaries. It was too fuckin weird to ignore.

Supposedly to shut us up. But it definitely pisses them off to do it, and they don't care about goodwill any other time.

Anyway, another thing to support this. Certain places in this world can not be accessed by the natives, giants, or gods. If this is world of its own, why would that exist? Barriers only non-natives can pass through.

I've been wondering if it has to deal with their ragnarok. One outcome set, but fuck if I know maybe someone learned to break and cheat the system.

It'd explain why all the giants aren't just marching on us. All this spy and ambush shit. If the gods are cheating by bringing us here, and that's broken some kind of - I dunno, prophecy? Anything's possible here - then they could actually be smarter than they look.

I doubt it, but it's not impossible.

Exactly. What is going on has limits to it. They have to have our input when they really would rather not suffer dealing with us at all.

And most of the city is filled with morons. That's just great.

So the thing about our natural abilities not working - you think that's a limit, too, or a power play?

I think it's both a limit, and a fact. But the way they explain it could make it seem like they might be lying or not. But it's a reality that I witnessed and heard from others.

The concept they're discussing would have been better explained like mountain climbing or when you mix explosive compounds. Either way, the results can end in disaster with the right preparations.

It makes sense to limit the influence and power of those you're calling in. It's also possible our method of entry into their domain makes us completely incompatible with this world. To chain and protect our lives, we're connected to their souls.

So basically, you've got no idea. [A heaved sigh.] They're really holding out on it, and either won't or can't get just how much they've pissed us off. But they're also arrogant as hell, so I won't put anything past them.

Basically yeah. They follow the old mythological stories of how gods view man. That's as much data as I have at present. But, I don't intend to let it stay that way.

I can throw you some more, maybe. You met any of the people here from other Asgards?

I met a 'Loki', other than that no. Wait. They're seriously bringing other gods here?

Apparently. You're pretty quick, so I probably don't have to tell you that other Asgards means other Ragnaroks. And it's not a big apocalyptic war - it's a cycle of war, maybe even indefinite.

So unless this is just the one exception, the real Asgard that's tied to every other world, we're being fed a huge line of bullshit about the war itself.

Or they don't even know what the truth is. [He sounds like he's talking to himself with that last bit more than to Pyro.] Shit. I don't like this. There's got to be more to this somewhere.

Someone will be willing to say more than what the gods are telling us. ...gives me incentive to get to the third level. Do you know about the prayer shrines in each house?

I had to leave an offering to Sigyn. Long story. But I know you can get some kind of favours, and talk to them if they're in the mood. You really think you'll get anything new out of them after all this time?

I'm talking about checking out other cities and kingdoms. We've learned the gods wont tell us anything. I'm not about to wait around for them to decide on what we 'should' hear.
