[It's a day after the explosion of Spring and superpower exhibition, and Pyro's just sitting in -

- well, it's a new room. Bigger, more homey than the dorm-style rooms of the God Houses, and his candle number appears to have doubled to compensate. The light is still flickering and uneven, but it's much brighter than it was during his broadcasts from Baldr. Anyhow, those who were there to hear him rant and rave about Freya being spared and Freyr being saved might think he's appeared to shit all over that party, but he's staying quiet on that front for now. (Who knows how many psycho kids one of them might have, after all.)]

Since we're so big on Democracy here, thought I'd put something up to a vote.

Instead of random surges in our powers that have nothing to do with anything, how about the gods put their heads together and see if they can gather up enough strength to make the powers work outside the city? Y'know, where most people are actually being attacked and either dying or coming close to it?

It's just a thought.

No money's not so bad if you've got light fingers, but it takes practice, and they catch on to even the best after awhile in a tiny city like this. Better just get a shitty job and deal with it.

I heard you can try and get a weapon from those shrines they've got near the houses. Want to share any other places you might be able to pick up a few things?

And I wouldn't trust a weapon from the gods. If our powers are any indication, they'd be crap.

There's a lot of people into swords around here. They just look big and awkward to me, like you'd have as much chance of cutting your arm off by mistake.

I spent years training with one. It's all I can use right now, since my usual methods of... combat have been sealed away.

Yeah, tell me about it. No point in punching someone out when you can roast 'em. I'm mostly using knives here, at least until we get the gods to drop this shit about being physically incompatible with their world.

Fire?

[That has his interest, because "no point in punching when you can roast them" is pretty much his philosophy.]

Yeah. Pyrokinesis. Fire is pretty much in my blood.

I'm assuming your - ninja powers can work with fire?

Yeah, ninjutsu. My clan was well known for their fire techniques, amongst other things. [Even their symbol actually represented a fan and flame.]

You chose the right technique, then. [A little smirk.] How much could you do with it? Manipulate size, shape, temperature? Can you make it out of thin air, or do you need a source?

With chakra. It's.. an energy you create in your body. Basically breathe fire, the different techniques cause it to change shape and power.

There was also another certain other one, Amaterasu. Black flames which can burn even fire.

I control fire, I don't create it. Enough heat, like an ember or a spark, and I can get a flame going. From there, it's pretty much anything - I can shape it, throw it, turn the heat and the force up and down, keep it burning without fuel. The entire outside of a house could be burning with no damage to the inside.

[He smirks, as though recalling a fond memory.]

Smoke a cigarette across the room and I can set you on fire.

[He's listening, one of the rare few times recently when he actually does listen. Because it's interesting. Sounds useful, too.]

You must be strong. Of course none of it matters in this place.
