Imperium ii [Video]
[Octavian sits amidst a sea of scrolls and maps upon his table]
My mother swore by the patronage of Ares... god of war. My uncle by Apollo...feast and song to please the people...
[A frown]
I have always thought Athena... wisdom... the more tempting choice but so many have reprimanded me for it.
[He turns his gaze to the feed]
Then what is it for you? War? Wisdom? Indulgence?

Though you don't need gods for that.

Nodens and Ogmios mostly, if you want to get technical about things, but I wouldn't call myself the religious type. The kings under the hill have slept for a long time, far away in Tir na Nog. We just held onto the last vestiges of the old ways in my world, glimmers of the power they wielded.
Yours and mine... they never got along too kindly. Something my mother mentioned about Gaul. [there's a rueful smirk on her face. She has no idea who he is, but if he's talking like that, he's probably from ancient Rome, or a very different world. The worship of the Olympians had fallen on equally hard times, after all.]

"yours and mine"? You presume to know my gods?

And war, from what I've seen, has never done anyone any favors, there's far too much of it. Indulgence driving the both of them too far to do any good.

The gods of war and wisdom seem more appropriate, Ser. I see no need for indulgence... [At least not for a Queen.]
