Moral of the story: 'frost giants' aren't as cool as they sound.

[...it's a joke, ok, don't judge him much. He needs to deal somehow with the fact the trip pretty much sucked. Jokes are also his way of trying to break the ice see what I did. Answering to people's silly thoughts? No problem. Starting conversation by his own? That's gonna need more practice.]

Someone mentioned weapons when I arrived, and how I should I ask the network about it. Maybe you do have an idea of what to do about--

[He uses telekinesis to make the two halves of a shepherd crook float next to him.]

[Brilliant deduction, Jack. All these changes are sure bothering you, huh?]

It almost was my third arm, if that makes sense. [He shrugs.] There are lots of kinds of magic around here, can't hurt to try. You don't happen to be one of those with plant powers, are you?

Ah, no. Sorry. [Giving a little shake of her head.] Ah'm in Hel, so I've got something with shadows.

[Jack hasn't got a good experience with shadows, but that's not Rogue's fault, so he tries to keep the tone light.]

Those... can't be that bad, can they? Tried using them yet?

A little. It's nothing at all like what I had before arriving here. Bit of a learning process.

Yeeeah, welcome to the club. Even if you had powers available here they wouldn't have cared, so better take a seat and try to enjoy the ride.

Seeing as they don't seem to care about much, save getting us to fight in their supposed war...

Well, there's definitely a war out there- [He points at the floating pieces of his staff with the popsicle.] -that's how my friend here got broken. But you shouldn't fight anything you don't want to.

[justonetouch]

No, but not everyone respects that. Sometimes the fight comes to you.

[Now that's one topic Jack knows about. The first time it became his fight, as little as he liked it at first. This time... well, for now, he wants to avoid another trip as long as he can. But will the gods let him?]

And what do you do when you end up in another people's fight?

[justonetouch]

I guess that depends? [Pausing, to mull that over, before continuing.] Sometimes it's not something you agree with, an' sometimes you do get pulled into a fight where, even though you weren't planning on it, you do believe in what they believe.

[Jack approves of that answer! Beautiful use of the word believe. He nods at Rogue, agreeing.]

Now travelers just need to make up their minds and decide if they believe in the gods or not. Meanwhile, I think I'll be sticking to the city for a while.

Whether they are gods or not, they are there. Ah think that's something we can all agree on.

I meant more like... not believing in what they say, in their explanations. Forgetting they exist is kinda hard to do, especially when the freaking districts are named after them.

Ah. That's a bit harder though. It's easier to believe in what someone says when they ask for your help, and not just take you and demand it.

They ask after dragging us here. It's like... demanding under cover. [Sorry, Rogue, all this deal touches a little close to home.]

It's not really askin' even after the though, seeing as we don't have much choice.

I... I guess? [He runs his fingers through his hair.] I don't think anybody was obliged to go and visit the giants. We went because we wanted to. So they... demand when they feel like it. Or something.
