Hello! I do beg your pardon, Asgard, but has anyone thought to spy on the giants in a way that the spy wouldn't be caught?

[Considering Alice isn't entirely sure what happened to the spy she is curious if anyone thought to spy on the giants in turn.]

Pretty sure they already have spies among the giants. They told me so earlier when they were wanting us to pray about what we wanted to do with the spy they caught. What did you have in mind, kid? [Hey, kids often think outside the box as it were, and outside of the box is where Kara lives.]

Oh! Well... these wouldn't be people. But I was thinking, what if people with drawing to life powers, like myself and others, what if we drew little bugs or birds or something that could fly. Something giants wouldn't think out of the ordinary! And we could have them try and see what they find or hear! With all the new technology I'm sure we could attach something to them so we could hear or see what they do.

It wasn't actually too bad an idea, would save on the time for spies traveling back to relay information, assuming they did not have something similar to the travelers rings, at least.] Not a bad idea. I guess if you can figure what is native for those giants, it might be worth a try at least. I'm sure if there was a major issue with it the gods would let you know.

Well, I'm afraid I don't know much on devices, but I do know about animals. No one ever thinks about a crow sitting in a tree or something of the sort.

I can't say I'm too familiar with the powers here in other houses or anything, but if you think it might be possible for those with this drawing power and we can figure a way to see and hear what the animals are...I reckon it would be worth a shot.

Well, the thing is, miss, I don't know if it's possible. I don't know anything about the giants, I'm afraid. At least not their land and not their magic. I don't think anyone does besides the gods.

Well, I am sure they can tell you if it is at least possible. Whether it might work is probably another story, but I like the idea at least, myself. I don't know much about them either so you're not alone there. I've been here probably just over a month or so myself.

And then we wouldn't have to be worried about other people getting hurt or caught like we caught that spy from the giants.

That is a good point though, possible limit to the spies being caught. Or if they are, they wouldn't be people being tortured or something. Like I said, I'm not sure how this drawing thing works myself, but I don't think they could be used to get information on us on their end?

Oh! Well... I don't! But I know how to play chess. If I think of it that way then it's all very simple!

Uh. [ Alice is quite young and innocent, so Eugene won't tell Alice that in real-life, chess would amount to a hundred dead bodies and a warring kingdom against another that would only equate to more dead bodies. ]

Except in real life, that's not how it works, Alice. It's a lot more violent than just knocking down pawns.

I know that. I'm not stupid, Mr. Fitzherbert. But you can still apply strategies from chess to such a thing. The point of the game isn't just to figure out how to capture the other king, it's also to make the other player think you know every possible move they're going to do and already have a means of countering it.

But how would a spy not be caught?

Because it would be a bird or bug! No one ever thinks to question why they're around!

W-wait, how do you want to send something like that to spy?! But bird or bugs aren't smart enough to know what they're supposed to do or even remember the information, right?

Oh but they are! See, homing pigeons are just regular birds who carry messages all the times. Or, if it doesn't work to train them, we could always ask someone with the ability of the bards to help us. We're all working towards the same goal, after all!

You really think it'd work? Honestly, it sounds a little complicated to me..

I don't think it's complicated at all. We would just draw birds and the sort to have them fly over instead of having spies possibly get hurt. Besides, if a bird is caught, it can't give any information away.

I'd still feel sorry for the bird if it was caught though.. [ Probably more sorry than she'd feel for a person. Asahi likes animals more than quite a few people. ]

I mean, I guess it's worth a try, but.. still, I feel like they might be too smart to fall for it.

Well... yes, but that's why they're going to be birds drawn from drawing life powers.
