[The voice that comes on is light and cheerful and opens with a laugh.]

Hey hey- quick question guys. So I've talked to a few people over the past couple weeks, and I'm getting the idea that a lot of you aren't too keen on the whole 'murdering your fellow man' thing. Which totally surprises me, since I thought we were pulled here to murder things! Or fight a war, I guess.

So this is a little informal poll!

Uh- how many of you have killed someone before? Of your own species, or close enough! Cold blood, warm blood, lots of blood- method or reason don't really matter.

If you want to give details, that'd be awesome.

--I guess I should start, though, huh? I've killed loads of people. Like a lot! [More laughter.] Buuut my world's had at least two wars just in my lifetime, so there's never been any shortage of targets, nya ha ha!

Okay, your turn!

The one who would have otherwise spearheaded an investigation is gone anyway. Is your bloodlust really under enough control that you could hold in the urges that long?

Really, when Travellers first began to arrive in the city, there were a number who freely killed. But it has been some time since then.

What would you you do if your carnage is denied?

As there was never any arrests, the culprits either ceased or returned to their worlds, if they were Travellers. Unless that person saw fit to keep any detainment a secret.

You would not be the first to defect to them, they are more active than the we are.

In truth, there is no real structure to this society other than what the gods have declared. There were attempts in the past, but the populace favours its freedom in a cage.

When Ragnarok began, there were those who fought on the side of the queen Thiazi. A small number.

If they have, it was only recently. There is a new system in the network that would alert every Traveller through their bracelets in the event of an emergency. The gods would be alerted as well.

As for what happened to the defectors, I cannot say for certain.

Yes, assuming the network is activated. I'm not overly familiar with the particulars, and it has only been deliberately activated once.

Then we shall see how the Queen of Frost treats you. I hear she is not kind.

I'm not sure if it would record with the emergency system... But with the normal settings it should be possible. [IClearly that's the best use for it.]

Any reason why you desire unkindness?

Hardly any time to observe a rotting carcass, individuals are revived in minutes. [Not that he has any personal experience, he has yet to die here.]

Masochism?

Likely not, it's an unusual request by itself. [Who would want to supervise that body anyway?]

... Torture can be difficult to happen without pain.

She is merely the guardian of the dead, that doesn't mean she has to have a fondness for it. [But what did he know? Eyes had hardly spoken with her.]

And I suppose, if that is what you are fond of.

No harm at all. [Especially with the amount of interest he had in the topic of death.]

And no, I did not answer you question. What would your guess be?

It could be, do you desire to find others who share in your love of blood so terribly?
