Her bottom lip is between her teeth, before she lets out a little huff, sending strands of white and brown hair fluttering away from her face.] Okay. [A slight drawl to that, as a gloved hand pushes her hair back behind her ear.] I've seen and heard some crazy things, but Ah gotta admit, this? I think this takes the blue ribbon.

[Not to mention the fact that the faceless maid was a touch- or a lot- creepy.] Ah get what was said. I'm not stupid, but... Well, I mean, it's a bit hard to accept this. That guide- [The tone of her voice really says it all about the guide. But, if what it says is true... It is a lot to take in, and a lot that really doesn't seem right or real.

Of course that leads to a lot of other questions, such as who, and why, and how.] Is it true though? Any of it? Gods, and giants, and powers lost-

[And that part she hesitates on. It's not like she's going to run around touching everyone to see, on some slim chance.] Or, or is this just someone's idea of a stupid joke. [A stupid joke.] 'cause it's not funny, if it is.

They're younger. Probably about fifty years younger. But when people kidnap you for the mutant cause and nearly kill you, I think you'll recognise them no matter what.

[A slight pause as she puts two and two together.]

[Yup, that's all you're getting out of her, as her mind is racing a mile a minute right now.]

And Mystique. Can't forget her. The Professor comes and goes, so I wouldn't count on him protecting you for very long if he shows back up.

From the sounds of it, I don't need it.

[He grins properly, impressed.]

So you meant it when you went to take your glove off. You've gotten tougher, anyway, if no smarter.

[Of course she meant it.

Narrowing her eyes slightly.]

No? I know that I don't have my powers and that he don't have his. An' you yourself told me he doesn't know me from chicken scratch. Now, no doubt you've told him whatever you wanted to tell him, but so what.

[And now some sass.] Or you just hidin' behind him.

Rogue, we've got so much more important things to worry about right now than you. You said it yourself, we've had our identities stolen from us. The X-Men didn't do that, and humans didn't do that. We've got a new enemy now.

... unless you get in our way. Then you do have something to worry about, because Magneto's not a hundred years old anymore, and he's got a power of his own like we all do. You of all people should know how clever he is when it comes to using the power he's got to its full advantage.

You got that backwards, John. Ah'm not the one who got in anyone's way.

[Magneto got in hers.]

You're on their side now, though, aren't you? No more running away. And all the X-Men do is get in Magneto's way.

Only 'cause Magneto makes it so.

You're never gonna let that grudge go, are you? He and Mystique saved your life, along with all of ours, and then all of mutantkind. If that's not payback, I don't know what'll ever be.
