016 - Video (Invite to Player Plot)
(OOC: There are still 3 spots open here for the trip to Svartalfaheim, first come first served. Virtually anyone interested can sign up, but remember that going to the Dwarves means you won't be on the Freyr-rescue team.)
[Samantha has a sober look, a book in her hand and another jotting notes down when she hits the feed. She looks up and almost speaks before jotting something else down and then sighing.]
This isn't the best time for this, I know. We just found a spy and people are still looking for those murderers, but there's never going to be a good time.
[She sighs and makes an obvious effort to firm herself up for this.]
I've talked to Odin, and he's agreed to field an expedition of travelers north to Svartalfaheim as long as we've got the people. Merlin, Eridan and I are pulling in the tickets for the trip and a few more willing to help us out. Svaralfaheim's the city of the dwarves, deep in the mountains. The best weapons anyone makes in all Asgard are up there. They're neutral, just like Ran's people down south, but they've traded a few weapons with us in the past. We're going up to see if we can't convince them to send more, and I think we've got enough going with us that Odin will send the runes he talked about for the trip.
Look, guys, I know a few of you don't trust me, and I'll be damned sure I wouldn't trust me considering some of the crap my other half has pulled, but we're stuck in this together, and just doing the hippy hug-circle to get the colors back isn't going to be enough. This is a war, and we need help. Maybe the dwarves won't make an alliance, but they're traders. We can convince them there's profit and a good story in this for them.
So, who's in? We leave midnight in two more days from now (late-night 274) and we arrive in the morning the next day. You'll be gone a few days. This isn't a pleasure cruise. We're going north on a train and Dwarves can be tricky to talk to. I'd also rather anyone going at least pick up a gun or a can of mace, just in case. But it's not like you get to go to the halls of the mountain king everyday is it?

I am intrigued.

A gun, huh?

Talked to Eridan already. You're in, and fin-rot can behave. Euri's maybe coming too. I know he was thinking of inviting her himself.
[Oh, now he looks pained.] That means I get to behave too, right? I've gotta make a truce with somebody just to take a piss these days.

audio;
If it doesn't trouble you or anyone else, may I accompany you onto this voyage? It truly does sound like a great opportunity to learn further details about this world and the other kingdoms as well. And just like you said, we might be able to convince them to be on better terms with us if we give them a good incentive in helping us in this war. I do believe we can use all the help we can get from other natives.
Audio
I think we could use another set of hands, yeah. Personally, I'm hoping you're pretty level-headed. We could use a few of those with a few of the jokers I'm dragging along.
Audio
I vow to do so as Shirakiin-sama's SS Agent and loyal dog.
[He knows about you, Sam, from the few discussion feeds of the past between her and his past self. Remember the reincarnation tidbit he spoke about? This would be the same and exact situation.]
Re: Audio
It'll be good to have you along. I trust you, and while you're there be sure to hunt down some weapons for yourself. That's the point of the thing, and we need people to be armed for the war.
I'll see you soon.

[Soft, almost dangerously so.]
I've spent thousands of years in Svartalfaheim, you know.
[Video] [Private]
Oh, she knows that name. She read about you in the history books in the library, back when she used her body control to sneak a key along with Rose and break in, you know. When Odin wasn't letting them. Well, this is
...
Awkward.]
Yep. I'm the meticulous type. I've also dealt with them too, you know. Not near as much as you, but that doesn't mean we can't at least try to make a trade deal to see if they'll sell a few more, maybe to the travelers directly. [The best lies weren't lies.]
Ran seemed willing to work with us. It's a shot in the dark, but it's a shot.
[Video] [Private]
Okay, maybe not, but there had to be something about his temper there. And his... inclination to eat things that disagree with him.]
Why wasn't I consulted? Being Asgard's ambassador to the dwarven lands, I have the feeling that someone... [He trails off, gaze flickering up to meet her own. And there's something off about him, something primal and animalistic- which would make sense, being the wolf god and all.] ...should have spoken with me before a group of pups made their plans.
[Video] [Private]
You weren't consulted because I was under the impression you were over there and not here, and Odin didn't mention anything about you. I expected to meet you over there actually.
[Frankly, she was glad he was here on one ground because she 'might' be able to pull off the second half of the trip, its real purpose, without him being directly involved.
That animalistic look gets one right back, though one that isn't quite as confident. There's something in those eyes gazing back at him that says 'I'm not scared of you,' though the reasons might not have been quite as immediately clear. Sam had dealt with predators before. Predators, she understood.]
It's a little hard to get a note over to Svartalfaheim. Took me weeks to have the dragon scales worked for my suit the last time I made a deal to work with them. I figured we'd be touching base with you there.
What are you doing back here anyway? Are you taking over for Freyr for the moment?

[tbh the order WOULD be interested in having better weapons.]
...'Sides, I owe you for the tea, right?
[That terrible, awful tea that's supposed to keep his hollow down.]
How've you been?
[Drinking it...sparingly...]
I'll have to talk to my boss, but I bet I can squeeze in somehow. It'd be good to actually get out of the city for once, anyway.
[He shrugs when she asks about him.]
Ah... not much. I got a girlfriend, but I figured you already knew that.
[Dat post whoops]
I've mostly just been working. Boring as hell, but it's better than being stuck in a war all the time, right?

[She sounds entirely awkward because this is Sam and they are not on great terms, but Dwarves. She's only heard cool mysterious stories about them back home, and she doesn't want to miss the chance to see them.
Plus someone needs to babysit Pyro.][Audio]
[All business. This is intensely awkward for her right now, but she can work with Euri professionally, right?]
[Audio]
Even for how utterly irresponsible he is and this trip practically screams diplomacy.
There is a heavy sigh on her end.]
Got it. I'll try and make sure Pyro doesn't wreck things so badly they decide to declare war on us, too.
