[Annie doesn't look very happy when the feed starts, she's sitting in her room, looking around with barely concealed anger.]

I know that Finnick wouldn't have wanted to me to be angry, that he'd urge me to try and look at things positively... [She shakes her head.] It doesn't seem like any time has passed here, but I know I was home. I know the things that happened to me back there... It wasn't a dream.

Did you know? [If they knew that Finnick had died back home, they'd know exactly what she was talking about.]

[Annie shakes her head.]

It's hard to be okay ll be all right. I can't really be anything else.

[She's silent for a few long drawn out moments. It had taken her time back home to learn to talk about Finnick in the past, harder being here and having to learn to do it all over again.]

I did. He was killed fighting for our freedom.

[ He understands, and doesn't push her at all. If she hadn't said anything, he wouldn't have minded. ]

[ Because hell if the reasons for it make it any easier. He won't even bother trying to say something like that. It's never worked for him. ]

[She smiles slightly.] Thank you. Back home, it didn't hurt so much... Maybe because it had been so long since I'd seen him. Here it's harder... He hasn't been gone that long from here.

Th-thank you. [Her voice cracks a little. She'd honestly though losing Finnick had been the worst thing that had happened to her, but not being able to hold her baby in her arms is almost unbearable.]

Sorry to hear your return home was less than pleasant, Annie. [ As it does certainly seem to be the case. He can't say he knew Finnick particularly well while the man was here, but the notion of encouraging a positive outlook seems right in line. ] Is there anything I can do to help?

It wasn't all unpleasant. Some of it, I wouldn't give up for anything. [Her gaze drops a moment. Really, what can he do to help? Nothing that she can think of.]

I'll be okay, I... I just need some time to sort through everything.

I... [Her eyebrows furrow and she sighs.]

Thank you, you're being very nice. I just have to keep telling myself that I will be sent home again and then things will be okay.

I guess so. I just really hope that time really is frozen while we're here and when we are sent home, for good, that time hasn't moved on without us.

[It's strange, having to comfort Annie this time, when she'd done the same for Finnick not too long ago. Rue stands in the door way, hands twisting nervously.

She doesn't want to lie, but she doesn't want Annie to be mad at her either. But Finnick had told her to keep his secret...

Instead of saying anything, Rue just shuffles into the room and joins Annie, arms wrapping around her waist.]

[Annie exhales a long unsteady breath. Of everyone there, Rue is the last person she could ever be mad at.

She sighs, resting her hands for a moment on top of Rue's head before she finally wraps her arms around the younger girl and hugs her tightly. She's truly trying not to cry, it won't help anything. Won't bring Finnick back or send her home to their child.

She blinks her eyes several times, blinking back the tears.]

Oh, Rue.

[airborn]

[Rue just holds onto Annie tighter, pressing her face against the older Tribute's side. That's why, when she talks again, her voice comes out muffled.]

What did you see?

[She's been hearing that things get better for them, but the more she sees of her friends like this, the harder it's getting to believe.]

[brokennotmad]

[Annie won't tell Rue all the bad things that happened back home, like Prim dying and Katniss completely retreating into herself.]

We're all free. Snow died. And no more Games.

[airborn]

[Rue detaches herself long enough just to look up at Annie.]

That's what Peeta said. If we're all free, why are you angry?

[It can't be just Finnick, if everyone who came from the future is like this.]

Oh sweetie.

[She smiles, her hand moving to cup Rue's cheek.]

Because I have a baby back home, mine and Finnick's. That's why I'm mad.
