I need a volunteer to test out some runes for me.

It might be dangerous, but I'm sure it won't do much.

I'll pay you and teach you some more if you want to learn.

Also the same goes for someone to teach me how to use a bow.

I'll be updating the runes book at the magic guild.

There's some you'll have to come to me to learn.

Spent some time out in the desert. Sunset meant some reprieve from the damn thing. I burn like you wouldn't believe.

I can imagine. There's a world in my universe which is mostly dessert. I've never seen either there, but it was annoyingly hot.

Sounds about right. Hot as hell and about as dry. I kind of miss it now, though. At least it was quiet.

Still, I don't want him there to freak out at me if something bad happens. The ones I want to test are to create gills and to thicken skin. I'll include them in the book if they work out.

I know of better quiet places, although I can't say the same for here.

Probably, but that's the one we've got. I don't know that I like it that much, the desert, but it's the only place that feels like home now. Funny how that goes.

It'll probably be awhile before you see it again. Maybe you can find someplace here that will feel familiar to it.

You can't teleport back in your world? That sounds annoying, but it makes sense why you'd be stuck in a desert.

You're kidding. This magic can do that? What a great little toy. Kind of thing that needs careful setting up beforehand, right?

Not too much, but you do need to set the two points of where you want to go. But it's easy to get from one place to another once you do set it up. [Like ??? has his own network hidden throughout the city.]

That is really clever. I can definitely do a thing or two with this.

Have fun. The teleports don't connect between cities, by the way.

All kinds of fun, have no doubt. And that's good to know, although I don't really have a yen to travel yet.

Once your powers grow more, I doubt that will be a problem. You can get train tickets from the altars.

Besides Utgard, there's the land of the elves. Land of the dead, of the dwarves, and you could probably go back to the place we had the last mission. It's got a nice beach, and the locals seem to be relatively friendly.

A beach, huh? That one I'll put on the list. I haven't seen the sea for years and years.
