[ The feed opens on the snowy nighttime streets of the Loki district. A mocha-skinned woman with bright pink curls is bouncing (yes, bouncing) in front of the screen, her blue eyes wide with excitement. ]

It worked! It's on! Hellooooo in there, is anypony listening? Pinkie Pie here, on my way to the okie-dokie-Loki house! Not really sure how I got here from Ponyville, but-- WHUH-OH! [ The screen is a jumble of white and pink as she trips and falls in a snowbank. The fall looks like it could have hurt, but Pinkie is all smiles and giggles. This new angle reveals a lot more of that mocha colored skin-- it would appear she's been walking around naked. ]

BRRRR, that's chilly! This walking on two feet thing is tricky, I'll have to practice some more when it's light outside. Maybe I can find some skates and a pond!

If you can't walk on two feet, are you certain it's a good idea to put skates on? Isn't that just...dangerously walking, with blades involved?

Not to worry, I've been skating since I was an itty-bitty, little-widdle twinkie Pinkie! I can skate on four legs, two legs, or even one leg! It just comes naturally.

[ a pause. ]

...Does that rhyming thing also come naturally to you, then?

Yes I did! And I try not to be too serious, if I can help it.

I used to know someone like that. He didn't have many friends, though. Just a smelly dwarf and a broody rogue, that sort of thing. Didn't work out for him, I'm afraid.

Aw, that's too bad. I've got lots of friends back home in Ponyville! Some of them are here, too, actually.

...Ponyville.

You live in a place called Ponyville.

[ it's not quite a question. ]

Yep! A town called Ponyville in a land called Equestria.

I should probably explain that everypony there is a pony. If that wasn't clear already.

Everypony there is a--yes, of course. Everypony. That's why you called it...

Absolutely. And you have lots of friends there? ...Right. I understand completely now. No wonder you're so cheerful; it must be nice to know so many ponies.

Gee, you sound like such a glum Gus! What's got you down?

Oh, I don't know. Maybe I'm just sad because I don't know any ponies.

[twitches]

[ If you're trying for sarcasm, you're not going to get anywhere. ]

Well now you do. Good ol' Pinkie Pie will turn that frown upside down! Say, what's your name anyway?

and...he probably shouldn't tell her his name. in fact, he might as well just say fenris now and solve two problems with one lie. ]

...Anders. No colors in my name, I'm afraid. It's just...plain old Anders from the Anderfels.

Well, it's nice to meet you Anders from the Anderfels! You officially have your first pony friend!

...Do I seem less gloomy now? More of an Average Anders, instead of a Glum Gus or a Depressed Daveth?

Hm... I guess that'd be us, right? I mean that's the point of us being here.

All the people, you mean? And--well, how could I forget--all the ponies?

Yup! All of us, ponies, people, or otherwise.

Tell me--I just want to be certain--are there an awful lot of ponies in this place? I haven't seen any myself, but then, I'm starting to fear my eyesight isn't what it used to be.
