Can't say I've heard of it, or of whatever 'jpegg' is. Most artifacts I'm aware of are really not the sort of thing you want to compress, unless you're trying to irritate their owners.

Or melt them down, possibly. I don't suppose that's a sort of metal?

Which I suppose explains how it projects things, depending on the sort of artifact, but you'd think that would leave them open to having less desirable effects. What else do they do?
