Fourteenth Catch -Video-
[The feed turns on, and Finnick just grins as he positions the camera. On the table before him are a few sheets of paper.]
In my world it was customary of us victors to do a hobby since we never had to work again. So, I guess this is one of mine. I've only done this one other time in front of an audience, so you're in for a real treat.
But before I make an idiot of myself I'm going to ask; what types of activities did you do to pass time in your worlds?
[He leaves a pause and tips his head to the side as he looks down for a second at the first paper. Finnick looks right back up and starts to recite.]
There is a women who always keeps her head up high,
Her eyes sparkle like a bright star in the sky.
She has the stamina, beauty, and courage that one would admire,
Even the love and happiness one inspires.
She is a women that one can always count on,
And a women that sees no wrong.
Her beauty shines from the inside out,
It flows like a journey down a long route.
Her smile shines beautifully like the sun rising over the horizon,
And her intelligence, wisdom, and hard work are not surprising.
She is a genuinely caring women who goes the extra mile to help one in need or broken hearted,
And throughout all of her hard work, no one ever sees her fall apart.
[He takes a moment and grins at the camera.]
So what did you think? I never said I was very good at it.
[Private to Annie]
Didn't think I'd forget about you, huh?
[He remembers when he read her poem on the stage with the other tributes at the quarter quell and how a large number of women in the audience had swooned.]
Miles that separate
Friends that discriminate
Circumstances that kept us apart
And those people who broke our hearts
The feelings that I was scared to show
The ones that you always made known
The good times and the bad,
The happy and the sad
You never gave up even when I would
You never let go even though I said you should
You said you love me and I believe its true
And now I just need to say,
Baby I love you too
As the days went by I began to find
That this feeling inside was one I could no longer deny
You amaze me in every way
You continuously take my breath away
You know me better then I know myself
It's as if I'm a book,
That you have read inside and out
You know when I'm happy, and when I'm sad
You even know when the little things make me mad
You've one my heart, proved yourself true
Babe I don't know how you did it,
But you made me fall head over heals for you
[He winks at the feed before turning it off.]
[OOC: If you'd like the links on names of the poems let me know.]

But, as for your question, I did enjoy my father's work, and I do like sewing as well. My job, however, will always be more important.

[ It was rather sweet. And it sounds like it came from the heart, which is always lovely. ]

I played lacrosse back home.

Of course I didn't. I always loved listening to your poetry.

[He grins and winks at Gwen. Yup, he's a flirt.]
So, what do you do for a job if you don't mind?
video;
Oh! Thanks, Allison. Did it make you blush?

[Another nod.]
It's what they call the people left after the hunger games.

Well maybe I'll have to try some more personal poetry later for you.

No. Why would it?
Well, why is a raven like a writing desk. It's wonderfully silly, don't you agree?

[Finnick doesn't understand half of what she has said.]
Huh, so what's a May Pole? I don't think I've ever heard about them, but I do know about hide and seek.

[He smiles as if remembering a fond memory, though it was more the solidarity that he was thinking about and the knowledge that they were going to stick it to Snow.]

So it took becoming a victor of some kind to embrace the art of poetry? Did you drop the art of fishing and coming to others' aid?
And what did you won? A great prize? An award? The Midgardian lotto?

Perhaps... Actually I think I'd like that a lot.

[He was famous as a love them and leave them type. Even when she says that compliment, it doesn't bring him any true joy.]

That's a lot of questions, but I'll try to answer them best I can. We really couldn't work after we won the Hunger Games. So I wasn't really allowed to go back to fishing because I had other things to do for the capitol.
I won never having to worry about being poor, and a nice house.

I am fond of asking questions and receiving answers, you see?
I see...
[The tone of his voice is a thoughtful one while he thinks about what to make of this. Hunger games... Would that be an event where Midgardians would starve eachother? Very cruel.]
...Ah! So you have been victorious in these hunger games and therefore you never have to fish again because after all, after starving yourself for these capitol-people, you are eligible to receive all the delicacies you have ever dreamt of.
So you had to find other hobbies and ways to spend your free time, yes? And thus you chose poetry.
