airborn: (I won't cross these streets)

4th Tune || Video

[Rue's oddly thoughtful when she decides to use the bracelet again, though the serious image is probably ruined by the clumps of dough drying in her hair and the light coating of flour she seems to have acquired. Behind her, several piles of blackened or misshapen bread cover the kitchen counter.]

Do people always name things they create after themselves? What if I make something new but want to name it something else? I don't think "Rue bread" sounds very good.

[She frowns down at the floor, then remembers she had a reason for sending this out.]

One of the bakers here said there's something called pita bread. That means it's Peeta's, right? I want to make it for him when he comes back. [Rue smiles, looking very pleased about this.] But I'm not getting it right...

[Rue tugs on a strand of curly hair.] Can somebody help me?

You should name it after something important to you or something that relates to you.

[Though needlework was technically a thing she hated, but at the same time Needle was one of her most valued possessions.]

[Oh. Great. She had ask for suggestions. She hadn't actually gotten that far!! Way to go, Arya.]

Well, it's like I said. I don't know about things you personally like, but there has to be a flavor to it right? Or is it just plain bread?

[She tries not to sound as frustrated as she is, that she can't be more helpful.]

You could always name it after what it looks like? Like in Japan, we have melonpan... it's not usually melon flavoured, but it looks like a melon.
clearwater: (aw that was kinda cute)

[wait, whoa, something food-related that seth is actually pretty sure he can help with?! granted the recipe he knows is for frybread, not pita bread, but isn't it just a difference of cooking method and yeast?]

I don't know about naming stuff, but I can probably help with the bread if you need it!

... I don't think that naming it after that is completely necessary. You could be creative with names, as long as they're connected to you in some way. Then again, if you name them, you already own them by principle.

[ LONG TIME NO TALK, WOW. Hanako's pleased to see her again. ]

[As she sees the burned bread over in the corner, she couldn't help but smile a bit. Oh the joys of her days trying to cook..]

I think "Rue bread" sounds fine but...perhaps you can name it based on some other people you know?

... No, I don't think so.

And well, it depends on which thing you're going to name. Naming a bread after a flower isn't that weird.

Well, no... it's still flat on the bottom, but the top surface looks like a melon. I don't know how they'd bake it if it was perfectly round.

[She's thinking hard about it, though.]

[He smiles a bit sadly before he turns this on, all of it banished from his face, he misses home, his siblings, he thinks of what happened before he came here, the sadness fills him, he knows her fate and so he smiles just a little, a rare thing for Gale, but she is so young.]

I'm not much of a baker, but I'll give it a shot.

Pita bread probably isn't named after your friends, actually, it's just a type of bread. Kind of like how you can have rye or sourdough?

[The idea of naming bread after people is odd to Hugo. Croissant, pan au chocolat, pan de Noel... they don't have names of people. But as for putting names on things you create...]

My father would put our name on his clocks.

Uh...maybe? Isn't Peeta a bread itself anyway?

I thought maybe uh... [What people does she know?] Minato's bread or something like that?

So it's this Peeta then? But isn't it a Peeta bread already? [Too bad Fuuka didn't realize that Peeta was his name]

Oh um, Minato-kun is a friend of mine! So...if I were to make a bread, maybe I would name it after him? Or someone else?
