As much as I dislike the gods... the snow has been around for a while. Back home it only ever lasted a couple days. Usually the trees didn't even drop their leaves.

That's one thing I miss. This place is nowhere near as green in the winter. I think it might be because the trees are smaller - a lot smaller - and there isn't nearly as much moss. Not that the trees here aren't nice, but Fuggum has trees bigger than entire human houses, and they're absolutely covered in moss and lichen and mushrooms. Now that I think of it, even the ground and giant mushrooms were covered in moss, too.

So... when is winter supposed to end in a place like this, anyway? Is the snow supposed to start melting soon or is it supposed to stick around for another month?

- Oh, and everyone better come to the concert Luka is organizing! It's coming up in a couple days at Draupnir, and it'll be really fun so no one has an excuse to not show up!

[Petting zoo! And despite the snow it's open, though only the hardier animals are in the outdoor pen at the moment.]

If I lied about it, what if my friends from home came here and called it? I'm dead serious.

Mm... the dragon riding!

It's unlike anything, to be honest. Have you ever flown before? I don't know if by dragon, but by some other means? I don't think it'd compare. Just the sky and you, if you aren't afraid of heights.

We'd use tree branches or brooms back home. I don't think it was common to use another living thing, and definitely not a dragon.

Branches and brooms? ... Wouldn't you get nervous flying on something so thin?

No, I mean being on something narrow really high up-- wouldn't you be afraid of accidentally falling?

No, that's why you hold on tightly.

What if something spooked you? Or if you accidentally ran through a cloud?

Clouds aren't solid, what's the problem there?

All that water-- nevermind, I guess I'll just stick with the one being weirded out riding on something that skinny.

[Aah she'll giggle a little.] That's a weird thing to hear, honestly. Anyway, what's riding a dragon like?

I didn't have a lot of time to enjoy it when I did, but it's pretty crazy. They're not common where I'm from.

Well they're all dead in my world, so be more specific!

Well, they're not technically supposed to be all there in my world either. Guess they're a rare commodity. He's actually more whale-shaped than a traditional dragon.

Whale-shaped? [... What.] What's a whale?

Think of a dragon... then think of a really overweight dragon that doesn't have any business flying.
