Rutherford-san, I don't mind cooking a meal today, but I don't think I can deliver it. B-but I'll try to see if somebody else can bring it instead-! [Because she would feel bad if she didn't at least try.]

[After some effort, she's finally made it down to the kitchen, still miraculously in one piece. There's a bit of a red bump on her head, and some minor scuffs on her knees, which might explain why she's seated at the table for the moment. She did manage to brew up some tea at least, which she is enjoying, but judging by the soaked towels on the floor and a suspicious bandage pad stuck to her hand, it took quite a bit more effort than usual.

But all of that aside, she does look up when she hears somebody coming, and even manages a weak smile.]

((OOC: Hibiki has been hit by an age-up curse, making her about fifteen or sixteen years old. ...She's not much taller really, but it's still enough to make it difficult to judge distances.))

No, Hibiki, please - you have nothing to apologize for. Really! You're not used to working with this body yet so you will make mistakes. I'm just glad you're not burned. Here, let me take care of the meat. Why don't you get us each a glass of juice or something to drink while we work on this dinner?

[She gives a small sigh before nodding again. Why did being older have to make her so useless again?]

[She carefully makes her way to the fridge, being super cautious this time to avoid any more mistakes.]

[Hisao frowned at the sigh - He could tell she was upset by things and wished he knew what to do to make her feel better about it. He didn't like to see her unhappy, after all.]

So, Hibiki, if the age curse lasts for more than a day, would you like me to help you cook tomorrow night as well? Maybe I can teach you how to make omelet rice? If you don't know already, I mean.

Umm... If it's not too much trouble... Maybe?

[...Since she's caused Hisao some trouble just now, even if he says he doesn't mind, wah.]

I wouldn't offer if it was too much trouble. Plus, I make omelet rice pretty often anyway and I think I have a pretty good recipe. So, I'll be happy to pass my knowledge on to you.

[She's not exactly happy, but it seems to have mollified her somewhat. She carefully takes out a carton of juice and sets it on a clear portion of the counter before moving to collect a pair of glasses.]

Sure. That sounds just fine - I'd be happy to show you.

[He's still tending the pan full of meat, stirring it every so often so the meat browns evenly.]

Besides - Omelet rice is a lot of fun to make. Get enough practice with it and it can also be a really neat looking dish.

So... it's not very hard?

The making of the parts is actually pretty easy. But! There's a trick to presenting it in a certain way which is harder. I actually had to practise many times to get it right so the first few times, it looked pretty messy. But Hanako liked it anyway.

Then... how are you supposed to present it?

Well, you make the rice and the omelet seperately, then you place the rice on the plate and mould it into a sort of football shape, then you have to flip the omelet on top of it and shape it around the rice. Then, you draw a zig-zag shape on it with some ketchup.

Th-that sounds complicated...

It's actually a lot simpler than it sounds. Trust me - we'll make it together tomorrow evening to share with your friend and I'll show you how.

Oh... Umm, okay. I hope he'll like that, too, then.

Well, we know he likes rice - what about egg and tomato?

I... don't think he hates them...?

[She admittedly just kind of cooks whatever and hopes he likes it...]

....well, not hating them is a good start! Tell you what - I'll show you how to make it and if it doesn't look like something he'd enjoy, we can make something else instead.

Ah- Okay! That would probably work best.

[The meat was pretty nicely seared by now so he started to add the vegetables as per Hibiki's instructions.]

[Meanwhile, she places a cup of juice by Hisao before sipping at her own.]

It should only take about five minutes... After that, we can add some beef broth and let it simmer a while.

Alright - that sounds just fine.

[He put a lid on it and picked up his own cup.]

It's the least I could do. You ended up having to take over for me...

Yeah, but you know I don't mind. I like to cook for people too, you know. And I enjoy spending time with you. So, it's actually a fairly fun evening I'm having.
