1. Gods like to screw with travelers, so they'll take people from different points in time from their own world. Sometimes they even send 'em back, in their heads, so watch out for what you dream about.

2. Probably a curse. The gods do that to travelers, sometimes. Liven things up, try to get a rouse out of everyone, etc, etc. Some've head they do it to punish travelers who act out against them, but I'm not 100% on that theory yet.

No dice on the shadow power, but I can't say I've talked to a bunch of Hel people so who knows. Why, having a hard time making friends?
