011 - Video

[The image is a somewhat rare sight. Samantha is seated behind a worktable. There are a series of beakers in front of her and she seems to have something or another bubbling in a larger one of them. She takes a whiff of it and nodded in satisfaction before shifting to the side and looking at the camera.

Did she have a sort of smirk on her face?]

So, here I am working on magical defenses against the rigors of making certain fish-brained, fin-rotted, purple-obsessed morons look like chumps, and I was almost curious if they were making any progress with their "White Sciences" [Yes, she actually made the quote signs with her fingers as she said that, snickering.] in preparing my ultimate downfall. I mean, it isn't as if they don't prattle about all the ways they're going to have me at their mercy, and I was honest to god wondering if all of that was just a bunch of hot air.

...this is Eridan Ampora. What the hell am I talking about? Of course anything Captain Ahab's said's all hot air.

[Another snicker. Anyone who knew Samantha very well might recognize that some of it was effected bravado. She was still struggling with what her feelings were about him, but these little games were much easier to play on the network, and part of her had a feeling he'd get a kick out of shouting back at her.]

But, since I was thinking about it, I got to thinking some more. What really are the differences between magic and science? It's not like I haven't talked with a few of you about this, and I know what a certain moron thinks on the subject, but all the same with the power turned back on through the runes so to speak and with us able to affix just a little bit of the power of this world into a potion, I was wondering what some of you might have thought was the difference.

Oh, and Ahab, I am expecting great things out of you. Just so you know. Don't think I'm sitting idle over at the shop all the time.

Oh, delightful, I hit the nail right on the head. So, I'm guessing the smell of sulfur is stronger around him, then.

...really? I would assume that, just by looking at you, you'd actually be able to handle a spell of that degree. Looks like my judgement was wrong, in that case. Although, you do seem really knowledgeable in the area, I would gladly be a student of sorts if you were to teach me.

Magic is weak in this place. Tch, I can tell already. It's frustrating not having Gold Experience help out in dire situations. But yes, if you could explain the properties of magic which you described, I'm sure I can back you up in the science aspect. [That, or abuse it in Passione. That works as well.]

I would expect your mother to be an excellent teacher, considering the stories surrounding her. It's a shame, though, I would've like to have met the woman myself. Ah well, life takes course in unexpected ways.

Yes, that is my Stand. It's odd not using it in this place, considering I've gotten used to it being around me at all times.
ventoaureo: (I'm ready.)

Everyone misses their mothers to an extent. [Despite the fact that he had just repeated words (something he hates to do), his lips contorted into the shape of a scowl. He didn't like his mother, not one bit. He'd rather forget about her instead of remember the things she had done.] ...hm. [The scowl was wiped away by what she had to say next.]

...maybe. I've always felt it's presence since coming here, but not to the fullest. It may be due to what you said...it's sleeping. [Do stands sleep? He doesn't know himself, but he'll take her word for it.] ...still, this Growth power...it's only a fraction of what Gold Experience can do. [Although he doesn't like the fact that he can only grow a little seed, given he takes care of the plant afterwords, he can still appreciate it to an extent.]

I suppose you're right, in a sense. Although, I wouldn't consider it unlucky, it'd be fun to actually learn something new, wouldn't you agree? ...Merlin, as in the man from that King Arthur story? Looks like even myths can come here, too...

Boosted to something closer? Plant control wasn't exactly it, but close enough.
ventoaureo: (it's mine now)

New experiences always seem to find their way to me. Such as being in this place, so I've gotten used to it by this point.

...he isn't, huh? Maybe he is different then from what I originally thought. Doesn't help to actually investigate him myself one day. [Although Giorno's investigation methods aren't conventional in the slightest.]

...ah, so Arthur and Uther, too. Heh, this place is getting more and more interesting then before.

Well, this certainly does put me on edge. I'm considering exploring this place a bit more, seeing as how fairy tales wind up here. It just seems a bit bizarre, to me, and I've been wanting to get some research in.
ventoaureo: (And so we float on.)

[personal profile] ventoaureo 2013-01-31 02:11 am (UTC)(link)
Well, if you put it that way, the yes, this place can be really surreal. But, I've come to terms with it at this point, just letting life take me along it's course. We are all, but slaves to this...

Of course, that doesn't take away from the fact that this supposed war that's going to happen catches my interests, and I'd be glad to see what the outcome will be, even though my powers are miniscule at this point in time.
ventoaureo: (I'll be taking that...)

[personal profile] ventoaureo 2013-01-31 06:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, this place is only just making me begin to wonder...in any event, I'm willing to actually...experiment around with whatever you're planning on doing in the future.
ventoaureo: (Sorry about that...)

[personal profile] ventoaureo 2013-02-02 09:48 pm (UTC)(link)
When you put it like that, I feel a little apprehensive to actually go along with you. ...oh well, experiments can't hurt. [Or at least not on the size of Cioccolatas experiments.]

Sounds fine to me. As long as it doesn't do anything to my psyche, I'm fine with it. Now, what is it you have in store for me?
ventoaureo: (And you are...?)

[personal profile] ventoaureo 2013-02-03 06:57 pm (UTC)(link)
[Poisons, more stuff to render him useless. He's been through worse, so he just shrugs this off, and nods.]

That sounds good to me, although I do dread the thought of more toxins entering my body then what I experienced back home. If it's for a greater purpose, then tell me when I can get started.
ventoaureo: (And you are...?)

[personal profile] ventoaureo 2013-02-03 11:20 pm (UTC)(link)
That eases my heart just a little bit, thank you. Of course, with those toxins, I don't think my heart will be able to rest once we test them out. Funny thing, that is. [He chuckled and shook his head.] Might as well call you "Professor" or "Doctor" at this point, eh?
ventoaureo: (You don't want to do that...)

[personal profile] ventoaureo 2013-02-03 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Tch, I've had plenty of viruses and diseases from stands that these poisons might not be close to what I have experienced, but yeah, I've got a thing about them.
