[ so someone may have woken up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. she's a little huffy... or downright angry looking, if you wanted to go all the way with it. when raven woke up this morning, she was all blond hair and, well, no blue skin or scales. remember that time when she probably would have been perfectly fine with this? well if the expression on her face is any indication, that time has come and gone.
at least she's calmed down from her initial state of a lot of terribly unhappy feelings before turning on her bracelet ]
This isn't funny and whoever thinks it is has a really twisted sense of humor. Do these so-called gods get off on taking everything from the people who are supposed to be here to help them?
ooc;; cursed. spending the next few days "looking normal". it's terrible, really.

[Life looks so different from inside John Allerdyce's head. But he's not lying deliberately - that's really how he felt, even if the "candles" were police cars. And officers.]

But once you get there, the leash goes on. Magneto's the one who actually wants to act for mutant rights, and the Professor and his X-Men spend most of their time fighting him. It's bullshit.
[He calms a little, remembering that whenever he gets out of here, he's free. He doesn't have to go back to that.]
That's why I joined you guys. I was sick of being asked - told - to pretend I didn't exist just to keep me safe.

[ for a moment, there's an actual smile ] Why do you think I chose Erik over Charles?

[It's dangerous getting this personal. He's only done it once, and that's when he was drunk off his ass. But this is someone who'll actually understand, and who reacted the same way he did - with strength and anger instead of tears. It's a bond, whether he wants it or not.]

They were afraid of their own daughter. I don't think it matters beyond that.

Well, y'know, I've seen everything from disappearing in the night to calling the cops on your own family just because they're in the house. Always interesting to hear new variations on the theme. One day I'll hear a version where the fuckers just got killed where they stood for what they did, and the world'll seem like a better place.

It's disgusting, the way they treat us. Isn't part of being a parent loving your child unconditionally? No matter what? It shouldn't matter what we can do or what we look like or anything like that. We were their children. We get treated like that and Charles expects us to get along with people like them. To live among them peacefully. I think they proved a long time ago that they don't want to live peacefully with us.
