( video the third )

[ so someone may have woken up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. she's a little huffy... or downright angry looking, if you wanted to go all the way with it. when raven woke up this morning, she was all blond hair and, well, no blue skin or scales. remember that time when she probably would have been perfectly fine with this? well if the expression on her face is any indication, that time has come and gone.

at least she's calmed down from her initial state of a lot of terribly unhappy feelings before turning on her bracelet
]

This isn't funny and whoever thinks it is has a really twisted sense of humor. Do these so-called gods get off on taking everything from the people who are supposed to be here to help them?

ooc;; cursed. spending the next few days "looking normal". it's terrible, really.

Hey, do I "look" like a mutant? And yet I couldn't so much as light a candle without him or one of his X-Men breathing down my neck.

[Life looks so different from inside John Allerdyce's head. But he's not lying deliberately - that's really how he felt, even if the "candles" were police cars. And officers.]

He thinks he's saving us. He takes in homeless kids, strays, ones whose families didn't take the news so well or ones who are just lying to their parents to avoid that. He ends up looking like god to them.

But once you get there, the leash goes on. Magneto's the one who actually wants to act for mutant rights, and the Professor and his X-Men spend most of their time fighting him. It's bullshit.

[He calms a little, remembering that whenever he gets out of here, he's free. He doesn't have to go back to that.]

That's why I joined you guys. I was sick of being asked - told - to pretend I didn't exist just to keep me safe.

[He's quiet for a moment. It's still strange to see someone he's thought of as so tough and impervious to everything sharing childhood stories... being vulnerable. And the fact that she was obviously rejected by her parents as well - he's not sure if it surprises him or just explains a lot.]

How'd they do it? Kick you out, or just disappear?

[It's dangerous getting this personal. He's only done it once, and that's when he was drunk off his ass. But this is someone who'll actually understand, and who reacted the same way he did - with strength and anger instead of tears. It's a bond, whether he wants it or not.]

[Yeah, that instinct toward moving closer was a mistake. Like it always is. He shrugs, trying to look casual despite the anger flaring in his eyes.]

Well, y'know, I've seen everything from disappearing in the night to calling the cops on your own family just because they're in the house. Always interesting to hear new variations on the theme. One day I'll hear a version where the fuckers just got killed where they stood for what they did, and the world'll seem like a better place.
