[River Song is standing outside next to what appears to be a makeshift shooting target. It's not much more then a few bales of hay with a large piece of cardboard that's been drawn on. Oddly enough the face on the cardboard looked suspiciously similar to a Silence. Not an exact likeness, but it had that sort of creepy alien persona to it]

I've heard a few battles break out here now and again, so I thought I'd better come prepared for the next one.

[She drops a hand into the leather gun holster at her hip and pulls out a sleek black hand gun]

I'm not saying guns are the answer to every problem. Only when diplomacy fails and the life of your loved ones are on the line. I used to believe in shooting first and asking questions later, but I like to think I've matured a lot since those days.

[Raising the hand holding the gun, she points it towards the target. Only her arm is pointed towards the target, the rest of her body is turned towards the camera. She wasn't even looking at the target when she fired off a shot and hit the alien face straight through the forehead. Quite an impressive feat]

I suppose I could offer some lessons on how to shoot a gun to anyone out there who might be interested. I might charge a small fee, but that's only if I don't like you.

[She grins and winks at the camera before shutting off the feed]

What is a "gun"?

A gun is the weapon I just fired. It shoots a metal projectile at high speeds, which usually results in injury or death of the intended target.

Still as good as ever, I see.

I'm sensing that's not meant to be a compliment.

I've already told you that I like it. How else would you take it?

Sometimes you're hot and sometimes you're cold when it comes to weapons. Usually you're all hot about it when I'm holding a gun though.

[Why yes, she's teasing him yet again]

I do, but sometimes it's fun to use your lines against you.

I wanted to ask how you like the target I made for shooting practice.

I suppose I can make a Dalek one if you prefer?

River. I'm not going to be doing any gun shooting here.

Of course not. You prefer that sonic screw driver of yours.

[She brings a hand to her chin for a moment]

Firing off weapons can be extremely good for stress release though. Yes, I think I'll make a Dalek target next. Once I'm finished with this one.

[It was no wonder she held a certain vendetta against the Silence]

Make sure to invite me so I can at least stand buy and watch you obliterate it.

I will, never you worry. I'm going to break in this weapon though so things might be a bit loud around the house for awhile.

I don't mind.

[It was still odd talking to him, even flirting with him when he was in Ten's body, but like every other topsy-turvy event in her life, River had learned to go with the flow]

You sure you don't want to come watch me break in my new gun in person? Since it gets you so hot.

By the way, how often do fights break out here? Rory mentioned there was a big battle just before I arrived.

That was the only one I've experienced, but there was an attack from some kind of... darkness, before I got here.

How bad was that last battle?

So, it is like a bow and arrow? I did not see the weapon well enough... It seems much smaller. How do you load it? [questions from the middle ages.]

I've seen worse, but that's not a good thing.

[ Because he has seen so very much, that's not a very difficult feat. ]

Well you've got me now. I'm curious though. What did you do during that battle?

Tried to keep people out of harm's way, healed what I could, not that it was much.

[ And he got hurt, and tried talking to the Giants but that didn't go so well. Bah. ]

Right. I can help with that too you know, the healing bit. I figure healing a lot of people takes a toll on you just like my energy transfer does to me if I use it too much.

When you get tired, I can transfer more energy to you. You can keep on healing people. If I'm not busy shooting people that is.

[Holding up her gun, she takes out the clip and holds up one of the bullets so he can see it clearly]

These do a lot of damage at the speed the gun expels them. To load the gun I just insert the clip.

Now that you're here, you can, yes.

At least admit it's a brilliant idea.

Of course it's brilliant, you're brilliant. That's a given
